We went with the dim sum and a la cartegena menu. The place is fantastic. Deep rich flavors in every dish amd the dim sum is some of the best in world. This place is fantastic amd well deserving of their star View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Shang Palace Shangri-la Paris:
Lunch was really embarrassing for a restaurant with that name. We had the tasting menu, never had that simple food for that price. Lobster roll- almost no filling and could easily be shrimp instead and I wouldn’t feel the difference. Amazing service, amazing food, amazing wine! The sauces were complex and I really appreciate our server explaining that each sauce was for a specific item on the dish. The lobster was excellently prepared full of flavor and well cooked so it was not rubbery. Outside of the preset emerald menu, we wanted to try the lobster har gow. It does not need the little gold leaf on top, it is perfect as is, or with the accompanying chili garlic sauce which was delicious. The normandy beef fillet was excellent, each piece was cooked just enough for there to still be pink inside. The fried rice with crab meat, etc, being steamed in a lotus leaf seems to have had no difference, I would have preferred just the fried rice preparation or if doing the lotus leaf, have the rice be a little stickier like no mai fan. The mochi ball of the trio desserts definitely outshown the dan tat and the mango pudding ? . The dan tat could have had more crispy layers. The mango pudding did not seem to have set well. The surprise dessert at the end was so sweet as I forgot I had booked the reservation for my husband as a special surprise 2 months prior so I was pleasantly surprised too! They also have a lengthy wine book for any connoisseurs out there.
