I recently dined at Le Royal in Paris, and while the ambiance and service were decent, there were some areas that left me with mixed feelings. The vibe and atmosphere were okay, setting the stage for a pleasant evening. Our server was friendly and accommodating, which added to the overall positive experience. However, the service was not particularly swift, and it took longer than expected to receive our orders. One aspect that I found slightly concerning was that our server added a 20% tip to the bill without consulting us. While I appreciate good service, I prefer to decide on the tip amount myself. I did ask him to reduce it to 15%, but I believe that even this lower amount was generous given the delays and the level of service provided. In my opinion, a 10% tip would have been more appropriate. I'd like to add one more observation to my review of Le Royal. When I requested lemonade, our server brought us a sprite with lemon slices inside, which, in my opinion, does not meet the definition of lemonade. This minor mix-up added to the overall inconsistency in the dining experience. As for the food, it was acceptable but didn't quite reach the level of excellence I had hoped for. Overall, Le Royal is a decent restaurant with a friendly staff, but it falls short in terms of speed and the way tips are handled.

Great food and service! Lovely atmosphere, the staff was very nice and serviceminded, the food the best I ate in Paris. You have to go here!!!!!!
