As for the overall atmosphere, it's a wonderfully friendly and laid back place. Some evenings feature live music follow Le Porte Pot on Facebook for more information on that. Each time I've been since my first time a few years ago, I always wind up making new friends, with Nicolas introducing me to his friends and regulars. I have also directed several of my own friends who were visiting Paris View all feedback.
What Kaja Jasińska doesn't like about Le porte pot:
Porte Pot: friendly service, little knowledge of wine for a wine bar, food was fair (rabbit with mustard sauce), average (camembert frit) to good (duck beef piece with home made french fries). Good start with family before the Fête de la Musique on a...Friday evening! View all feedback.
This is one of the places where you can eat fairly late. We came at 9 pm and were the first ones to dine. The menu is on a black board, about six starters and same amount of choice for the main courses. Food is typical French. The number of wines sold by glass is fairly limited, but if you go for a bottle, the choice is vast. Also a lot of organic wines and some natural wines. The owner is friendly and willing to explain about the different wines.
Visited her with a friend after seeing recommendations on Trip Adviser. They had a good deal on the cheese and wine starter. It has a nice atmosphere and the service was quick. I ordered the beef skirt which wasn't great as it was quite chewy but my friend seemed to enjoy his meal.
We decided to try a dinner in this place that also serves as a bar in the day and in the evening. Intimist place, beautiful decor and good choice of dishes and wines. We took a common entrance (tartare of tuna) and two dishes it offered at home, all accompanied by a wine recommended by the owner. We spent about 60 euros in total, but for the evening we spent it was worth it!
Small restaurant / very rustic and friendly - food excellent. Large TV screen not my choice though. Otherwise very good.
Really nice and authentic cosy place. Very great and helpful staff, excellent french food. In this area it can be diffucult not to walk in to a tourist trap resturant. If you want french food and cosy athomoshere tis is this the place to go to. Loved it.
