And without resting on its laurels. Indeed, without abandoning its gastronomic quality, Ms. Chen has transformed, with the effective collaboration of Manuel Mariani, her menu to focus on two culinary poles: the hotplate and the traditional cast iron casserole. Between quick and slow cooking, the dishes alternate traditional recipes and original creations. Thus the 7 treasures of the lotus flower mix scallops, melting shrimps, crunchy vegetables and cashew nuts. Classic frying pan will give you a general overview of sesame shrimp, spring rolls or fish fritters. The equally traditional assortment of vapors will complement the appetizers with delicacy. But let 's go in the heart of the subject with especially a great use of scallops, fragile product that must never exceed the prescribed cooking, at the risk of to end as a tire! And here, whether with vegetables or rice, nothing to complain about, the pieces are melting, with this unparalleled delicate taste. Here is the duck that will be tested in hotplate. Classical and with pleasure again. Far from the Chinese canteens of the 80s, having managed the turn of modernity without losing its soul, Le Lys d 'Or retains a decor ancient way and authentic cooking.
The place has excellent food, however some dishes are just bland. If you know what to order, you’re in for a treat. What was average: both appetizers dishes (selection of different stuff) were too oily and friend and had no real taste. The nems were just tasteless. The Ha Gao were good though. Moving on to the main course, the onion beef, and salt and pepper St. Jacques were Good but not excellent. What was excellent: the caramel chicken, the aubergine stew, and sichuan chicken were just amazing! Worth visiting again and ordering what you identified as the best they do.
An Asian restaurant offering homemade dishes, a varied menu. The food is very good. The restaurant can be noisy and the service is sometimes slow
We thought we were staying in a palace. The room was huge with a very modern bathroom. The room itself had a big old fireplace and an interesting chandilier. A wonderful breakfast came along with the room. The family run B B was a very nice place to stay. The people were so nice and helpful. Donald Trump was staying up the street at the US Embassy and Danya updated us on what was happening in the area and what Metro stops and areas were closed. We felt the family went to the extra trouble to look after the people staying in the B B. Danya's Mom gave us breakfast and she was very delightful!. We would totally recommend this B B.
