Small Thai cozy neighbourhood restaurant. At the counter, the chef can be seen to prepare the tartars carved with a live knife: beef or duck seasoned with herbs and spices. You can ask for a little or very spicy. ; This second time, I tested a good corsé broth with chicken and coriander ravioli. There are also lobster ravioli, spinach... Small plus: lemon pie or white cheese with speculos crust View all feedback.
What Felipe Hane doesn't like about Lanna Café:
After we had fought the elements during the day rain, wind, snow and snow, we wanted to go to dinner somewhere near our hotel so we were not far to foot. we also fanned thai. alanna café crossed both boxes. we have booked a table...for about 8.30 we arrived a bit early, not quite recognizing how close to the hotel it was, and we were a bit worried as it was empty! went for a quick drink and until we came back, it was... Asian FusionOne of my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood.
A few steps away from Place de Clichy (Paris 17), we found this small restaurant right on the corner of the street. Menu looked interesting so we gave it a try.Nice atmosphere, kind and very quiet service, mainly suitable for couples (we didn't see big tables)Different kind of "tartares" (raw meat, a delicious Frenchs specialty), a "curry of the day" and good wine. Excellent dessert too (riz au lait with coconut)A definitely "will come back"
I have been to and reviewed this restaurant before and found the food excellent. On this occasion however it is not a review of the food (as we didn't have any) but a comment on the restaurant's organisation. My son reserved a table for 8pm. We were held up on the way there when the bus we were in was caught in very heavy traffic and arrived about 10 minutes late to find that they had given our table to someone else despite the fact that they had taken a phone number when the booking was made and so could have easily tried to contact us to check whether we were coming - they didn't. The only places left unreserved were at the bar which I found extremely uncomfortable so we left. I can understand them releasing a reserved table if people hadn't turned up after half an hour but 10 minutes seems a ridiculously short time to wait. There was little in the way of apology and the attitude when we arrived was very much one of take it or leave it. As I said in the title - unproffesional
Having battled the elements during the day - rain, wind, sleet and snow - we wanted to go somewhere near to our hotel for dinner so we didn't have far to walk. We also fancied thai. Alanna cafe ticked both boxes. We booked a table for around 8.30... we arrived a bit early, not realising quite how near to the hotel it was, and we were a bit worried as it was empty! Went for a quick drink and by the time we got back, it was mobbed! It is quite snug but that didn't really matter. Mixed plate of smoked fish for starters was delicious - really refreshing with a lovely salad to boot! We both went for the chicken soup for our main course and it was amazing. Very tantalizing on the tastebuds :-) Staff friendly and attentive. Wholeheartedly recommend this place.
Walked by this little spot a few times near our hotel and it looked like a cute spot. Sit at the bar for the best experience! It's a French-Asian fusion type menu, order a few items to share, and watch the amazing tartar and cocktails be prepared in front of you. Excellent ambience, food and friendly staff.
