A friend got the recommendation of this restaurant from a local Parisian IT guy, and we went to check out this critically acclaimed fashionable restaurant. It was the biggest disappointment we ever had in paris restaurants. This is supposed to be a fusion restaurant with Asian sensibilities (read: Japanese, Southeast Asian, etc) with all seafood dishes. I love seafood and I am an Asian--that is why I hated the restaurant, every dish of it. This is the perfect example of failed fusion experiment. The chef has no clue about Asian cuisine. The end result is essentially very strong herbs adding to bland raw fish or shellfish. The herb completely covered up the seafood and overwhelmed it. If anyone has tried Japanese sushi, you would not treat fresh seafood this way.The wine offerings are expensive for Parisian standard, and are not even as good as the bottles you can buy from Monoprix. I think it is fashionable because it is exotic--people are attracted to things they do not understand. This level of pretentiousness in food preparation is worse than that in US.The environment is really uncomfortable. It was 78°F outside, and inside was sweating hot, hot ,hot! No air-conditioning. Little ventilation.
Too good every time we went there. rather late in the evening because no resas and we can wait for a table long. very nice ceviche plates, unexpectedly successful mixtures, very good products (thought emmute with betting mushrooms), it feels. brunch at the noon possible with kids: there are always fish croquettes and a small salad of vegetables that suits the little gourmets.Warning: small plates so we take several so this number... organic wines medium (like all organic wines?)
Went there after looking for a tapas place and was not disappointed. We had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table but it was definitely worth it. The service was really good and the waitress we had was really friendly. As we arrived only a few minutes before the kitchen closed, our choice in food was limited but everything we took was excellent, desserts included.
Everything was perfect, we had an amazing time at Clamato. We especially loved the tuna carpaccio
