Visited Paris for our 10th Anniversary and our hotel concierge sent us to Chez L’ami Louis. It is a very special place!! Very small and it feels like you are stepping back in time. As Americans who speak very limited French it was a little intimidating at first as the menu was all in French and it clearly was not a tourist spot. The staff couldn’t have been any nicer. They helped us with the menu and wine and made us... View all feedback.
What camilaseguraf doesn't like about Chez l'Ami Louis:
T E R R I B L E. Very salty, very overpriced, very small table, very difficult to get in and the place is not pretty, very old. Food portions are HUGE and not in a good sense, badly presented. The foie gras and the truffle is good but that’s it. The waiters were kind and attentive but definitely WOULD NOT RECOMMEND and WOULD NOT COME BACK. Again the worst part was everything was EXTREMELY SALTY. View all feedback.
American prejudice? Hatred? Say it isn't true! Just awfulSadHeartbreaking I have sent so many people here over the years as well.
Food was excellent, service was personal and friendly and definitely recommend it to everyone. one star less for the next door restaurant feel for the type of food and service it delivers. Although you might call it authentic, I would hope they can improve on the layout and the look and feel of the restaurant.
One of my favorite restaurants in Paris, Plates are huge as well as the prices. I always order one Fois gras for two, the veal with cream for two people, if you are still hungry, order the snails. This is a true french restaurant.
Going to bets and not making a stop at the lauded friend is like not even the eiffel tower. the portions are gargantues of excellent qualities the service is top. A unique place. international clients.
Friends had recommended this small restaurant, but we did not have many expectations. To our delight, the food was very good, even though prices were quite steep. But now day, nothing in Paris is cheap. We had an excellent burger, tender duck, and some very tasty chicken. It a worthwhile to go to this bistro only steps away from the Luxembourg Gardens.
