Contribute Feedback What Honoré Coste likes about Banh Mi:
I was recommended Banh Mi by my wife who has lived in Paris for several years and I was not let down. The doorway eatery has a very focused menu (banh mi, or if you know the owner Angela she might let you try her green curry which is immense), but which caters for all spice palates and carnivores/vegetarians alike. I tend to opt for the marinated pork sandwich as it is a more difficult sandwich-filling to come by in... View all feedback.
What Emmanuelle Bruneau doesn't like about Banh Mi:
Nothing great here. They got the order wrong and the banh mi was very underwhelming. No mystery meat and not much pate. No pickled veggies. Not really Bahn mi is it? View all feedback.
I really wanted to like this place. I have taken my parents and my brother's raids on a 20-minute walk to this place to grab sandwiches. we were very hopeful to enter. the owner spoke at least 5 languages (vietnamese, French, Cantonese, Mandarin, English) and...was kind with my oldest. we took the sandwiches to go, and they were underwhelmed. the french brot was excellent (no surprise) but the pig bell was just too fat. the carrots were not picked up. all sandwiches just didn't hit the mark. I would take over lees sandwiches in socal at any time. the French taste is perhaps not good with the traditional banh mi. disappointment
We went to this little place twice on 7 rue volta, because a friend recommended as the best banh mi in the city. the first time it was closed. we decided to go back to find that the owner had run out of baguettes. she had two and we offered her another, but it was the wrong way. in any case we have a pig, a special and a bark. we just liked the pork that was delicious. She was very sweet. the funny thing was that I then read some reviews that suggest that the original restaurant was moved. So I'm not sure if this is the best banh mi in the city. o
Co binh was really friendly and served the best banh mi I ever tried in Europe. her homemade pâté impressed me very much as she reminded me of the original taste I had during my childhood in vietnam. they don't come over. in the afternoon as she only makes a certain part of the morning and then sells everything quickly.
Originally from Northern California and currently living in Switzerland. Wanted to see and taste how a banh mi from Paris compared to the states. We were quite impressed. The flavors were quite good and the homemade sauce keeps you wanting more. We are used to...having sliced jalapeños and pickled daikon with our banh mi but hardly noticed that they were missing. Will definitely be back next time we are in Paris.
