What User doesn't like about Le Grillardin:
Foie gras on the menu? Do you know how horrible the animals are treated to make that sick liver? They are force-fed by a tube, it's really very cruel. Please don't have such cruelty on your menu and I'm happy to come back. View all feedback.
The words of the love I could turn for this place! we came after a really terrible experience in the restaurant of our hotel for dinner, and le grillardin was absolutely the antidote. the staff was so nice and friendly, and eating was absolutely excellent. my man refuses that it was the best steak he ever had – and I agree! we let them know that we were just married in tahiti, and the chef surprised us with champagne! we promise to come back before the end of our journey and we tried. Unfortunately, we misunderstood their opening times and they were closed the last day when we came by. but that was surely the restaurant highlight of the trip!
Excellent last meal in Tahiti for my wife and I. The goat cheese salad was a wonderful starter, the caramel beef and entrecote were both excellent, and the creme brulee was an excellent finish. The service was wonderful and prompt. Absolutely worth a visit!
As a vegetarian this restaurant was awesome. They don’t have anything veg on the menu but the chef made a special effort to make an unbelievably great vegetarian meal for my family. We were completely wowed and the staff and service was great. Must go!
Magnifique! I loved it. Excellent experience. My wife and I went for dinner. We called the day of to make a reservation on Wednesday. We ordered: The Mussels as a starter. Real tasty. Baked with cheese and seasonings. 8 large mussels! The mahi mahi. Served with puff pastry. Flaky. Tasty. The prawns in a curry sauce. Superb. One of my favorite dishes ever. It was like nothing I’ve ever had. Wonderful Curry sauce with coconut milk on the side. Also, entrees came with a side of rice. Loved the plantains and shrimp. They tasted like they had been slow cooked in the sauce. Tomatoes accented the dish wonderfully. Iced parfait. Kind of a weird dessert but tasty for what it was. It was frozen nougat with poached pear on top and salted caramel on the side. Iced nougat is weird. I tried not to think I was eating a big candy bar. That said, it was tasty and really worked. The caramel was extra salty, which I liked.
A shade disappointing We wait an hour between the apetizers, the entrees, the bread and the main dish. The service was good, but not « gastronomique » as French understanding. The owner wasn’t welcoming, showing our table with her fingers and said « You table is on the corner », and keep talking with the waitress. The food was good but not like it used to be. The wine we took matched perfectly with the meat The desert was really good. The speciallity of Le Grillardin is « tarte aux pommes fine », it’s an apple pie with a thin crust, really tasty and yummy, with a vanilla ice cream. At the end, the owner asked us if we were satisfied of everything, as if she did’nt notice that we spent 3 hours waiting for the dish. When we answered no, she difdn’t apolozige and wished us a good night. For sure we will never go back to this restaurant.
