The location is excellent, fac... read more We have been coming to Pantelleria since 2013 and not a day goes by, when we don 't go and stop for snack or a drink at Marai 's. The location is excellent, facing the lake Specchio di Venere, at the very heart of the island as the food is likely, not to speak of the musical background (very clever low volume selection of classic rock and blues)... Maria Grazia and Raimondo (their initials is where the name 'Marai ' comes from) are simply fantastic and so is their son Vincenzo. I strongly recommend a walking tour of the lake at sunset, followed by a stop over for an aperitif at Marai 's before dinner: a drink, sided by a plate of 'panelle ', or 'caponata '. And finally, a special mention to their absolutely unbeatable 'granite ' (suggested is that made of almonds). Grazie MAriagrazia, grazie RAimondo, thanks MARAI!

The atmosphere is relaxed and soothing, the food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, we only discovered it on the last day of our vacation, otherwise it would have been our go-to.
