Down-home Southern goodness is what you'll find here. Our waitress was not only incredibly friendly, but also very knowledgeable. The portions are generous, so be sure to come hungry. We enjoyed dine-in service during our visit in October 2020. View all feedback.
What Cynthia Miller doesn't like about J.r. 's Rib Shack:
Last time I got ribs they were excellent. But I got the pulled pork this time and it was SLICED not pulled. And it was fatty and tough and chewy(yuk) and the Mac and cheese was all flour. Horrible!! For 13$ a person I was pretty upset!! Saving grace, the onion rings were great. View all feedback.
Food was above average, store was reasonably clean and the service was fast and friendly. They have lunch specials and menu prices are fairly reasonable. Brunswick Stew was one of the better I have ever had. Table had sweet, mild and hot BBQ sauce. I couldn't tell a difference between mild and hot, but the flavor was good. Most of the parking lot is a loose sandy gravel and is quite dusty when it's dry. Parking lot access from 22 and North Star, so in and out isn't too bad, even when traffic is heavy. Has indoor and outdoor seating and offer catering services.
This is a great place to go if you want really good BBQ. Everything there is spot on when it comes to flavor. Give them a try see if you think so to!
We?ve been coming here for 5 years I?ll tell you, this place has never let me down when it comes to a rack of ribs. Want the best ribs in town? Hit JRs Rib Shack!
