We got fish chips. actually it was fish steak fries. The fish was awesome, just like I remember back home! PSA: steak fries are NOT chips! I was so hoping for real chips. Also, no sides. No mushy peas not even cole slaw (which I never had in England anyway) but saddest of all was the lack of malt vinegar. With all the things that went wrong with this meal, the fish was spot on. Excellent! But we spent nearly on piece... View all feedback.

Absolutely love the atmosphere and the appreciation of British culture! The food was real good!
(Blackbeard's BLT)The food is amazing! The fried appetizers were perfection. I've yet to be at another British themed restaurant that got the authenticity of the batter correctly. Excellent service and the staff was really kind. If you like small, comfy, hole-in-the-wall diners, I'd definitely recommend it.
Exceptional British fare. Staff was beyond nice and helpful. Do yourself and family a favor while in PCB and order some fish and chips. You won’t be disappointed. I believe Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith would agree with my review.
As a British family living in the USA we take the opportunity wherever possible to sample food from the Homeland. This restaurant came with good reviews so we gave it a lunchtime whirl. My husband ordered the cod and chips, and I ordered the battered sausage. A staple as a Yorkshire woman. The restaurant opens at 11am. There was a long list of things not available on the menu. The Shepherds Pie, all the gourmet burgers. No chicken tenders. The lamb I understand. It is notoriously difficult to get where we live. Burgers I am unsure, we were not there for that. Chicken tenders, bit of a deal breaker for my teenage picky eaters that grew up this side of the pond. One didn't order anything, the other ordered funnel cakes fries for lunch. Oh well, when in Rome, or PCB!When our food arrived the hand cut chips we were there for were not present. They were frozen french fries out of a bag. Both my husband and I just looked at each other. When the wait staff asked how our meal was,I asked where are the chips? One member of staff then explained that the chips require a soak they have flown in from England and they had not done soaking.I was rather bemused by this. Chips are soaked in salty water, sometimes bicarbonate of soda and water to remove starch before frying. Things that are readily available in the USA.Every self respecting chippy in England has 5 gallon buckets of chips soaking overnight. In the future, I would suggest being honest up front and giving people the choice to either wait,or not about the lack of chips thing. But if the chippy is open at 11am you have to have chips.Hubby's cod was good.My sausage was tasty, but barely battered. Flour the sausage before battering. Maybe they did,or didn't but the batter didn't stick. Fish was battered just fine.My husband wanted to leave. I was adamant I was sticking it out for the real chips.I gave this restaurant a 4 because we stuck it out and they gave us 2 piping hot baskets of chips, which made for a great chip butty later on back at our apartment. In summary if you have never had a proper chippy meal maybe give it a whirl, but not until the afternoon. And make sure they have chips before you order.
This place was very good, you have a wide range of plates to order and definitely it’s a must try if you are nearby. They have English food as well as some American dishes. We ordered the corn nuggets and they were surprisingly tasty. The burger was ok, the meat was actually very good but overcooked in my opinion.
