What Victoria R doesn't like about Fonda Lo Que Hay:
Found this place in the 50 best/Discovery and was really excited about going here. So, what can I say in the end: food taste good, yea 100%, but not exceptional, I’ve had better. And is it worth to wait 45 min to sit? To my taste, no. Overall is good, if you have no other better options. And yeah, it’s not fancy, just a small regular tasty bistro. View all feedback.
The food and drinks here are a cosmopolitan mix of local dishes and world cuisine. Every single bite was unique and delicious, and the presentation and atmosphere showcased the many flavors brilliantly.
The best food I have ever had! I don’t know how they are able to make such seemingly simple dishes explode with dynamic flavor. They nailed every aspect of the meal. Everything I tried was the best of that thing I ever had in my life. I cannot express how truly extraordinary the food was. The service was good but not great. The prices were relatively good (especially compared to US prices). But hands down the best food I have had. I came in the middle of the day and so I saw several families including young children so I think this would be a fine place for the whole family. It has a small menu but diverse for it size. The setting was interesting and not too loud. I highly recommend this place.

A concept that you would find often in metropolitan cities (4-5 shared plates for 2 people) but rare in Panama. During low season (July), we arrived at 8 on a Wednesday night and were told the wait would be 20-30 minutes but the hostess forgot to write down our names and we waited for over an hour, until we said something. You wait in a bar area that can serve you a small selection of drinks but I definitely recommend making a reservation year round. Once in, the food, cocktails and service were all great. The tuna carpaccio was delicious!! We also got the fried chicken which was good. Everything was a bit too salty for our taste but we still recommend checking this place out!
