What User doesn't like about Il Fornaio:
Normally Il Fornaio is wonderful. It's been my favorite restaurant for a while now. But this experience was frustrating. Our server was friendly to start, but then for unknown reasons (I hope nothing that we did), she was unfriendly and abrupt for the remainder of our visit. I felt like she didn't want us there. Everything we ordered was absolutely spectacular. I havent eaten here in years, and the flavors brought me right back. The tiramisu was a lovely walk down memory lane.
Everything is great as usual except our bread was hard as a rock, could not even cut through it barely. Not edible
I had the tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce and the setteveli both were soooo delicious! I dont think the setteveli had the traditional 7 layers but it was not too sweet...it paired perfectly with my merlot. yum!
Very nice salad, but I felt it was very over priced. $14 extra for 6 shrimp? Strange.
The tortellini has a lovely tomatoey sauce to balance the buttery butternut squash filling.
