I’ve been coming here regularly for almost ten years and the food is always excellent. I especially recommend the Thali dinners—I normally get one for take out and it’s enough to last me a couple of days. View all feedback.
What 1Aravinth S (5 2 years ago on Google doesn't like about Darbar Indian Cuisine:
As someone mentioned in their review, I don't see what all the hype is about. I ordered prawn biryani and it was awful. It seems like they have no clue how to make biryani based on my experience with this dish. At most, you can say they tried to make tomato rice but failed miserably by using poor quality meat. I definitely do not recommend this place, especially for biryani. I will never go back again. View all feedback.
Their butter chicken is the ultimate comfort food of my dreams. I order takeout from here all of the time and the food is always hot and fresh.
Darbar gives Neeta's in Houston a run for its money. This is quite frankly one of the finest Indian meals I've had on this side of the Atlantic. Its great ambiance, traditional music playing in the background, and exceedingly friendly staff provide an ideal complement to the fabulous food served by this restaurant. Quite simply full marks across the board. I'll be coming back here next time I'm in this part of the world.
Ate here with a small group. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Plentiful vegetarian as well as meat-based options. When they say something is spicy, believe them.
This is tasty seems good quelty food and service is very great I love this restaurant
My recent takeout experience at Darbar in Palo Alto left a lot to be desired. While it was busy on a weekend evening, which is understandable, the overall quality of the food fell short. There's only indoor seating available, so keep that in mind if you're looking for an outdoor dining option. My takeout order took a significant amount of time to be prepared around 40 minutes. Masala Chai: This was a major letdown. It was watery and lacked the typical sweetness and robust spice profile of a good masala chai. Aloo Tikki: This was a complete waste of money. It was essentially just plain potato chunks, lacking any seasoning or traditional aloo tikki ingredients. The absence of chutney and the wrong texture made it a confusing dish. I'm not sure why it's even offered on the menu. Masala Dosa: This was the only saving grace. The dosa itself was decent, and the sambar had a good savory flavor. However, it only came with a sweet and spicy chutney and was missing the classic coconut chutney that typically accompanies a masala dosa (no big deal because every place does it differently). Overall, Darbar gets 2 stars from me. The long wait time for takeout and the disappointing quality of several dishes were major drawbacks. There are better Indian food options in Palo Alto that offer a more complete and satisfying experience.
