Chef Zhao Kitchen - Palo Alto

Try the XLB, the Shanghai rice cake and the salt and pepper calamari. All reasonably delicious, but the feeling the ingredients is a bit light, I expected more napa and pork in the rice cake. Overall, the food is good, average value ratio.

Excellent food, very friendly staff, located in an upscale neighborhood in Palo Alto, this place is a real jewel. Authentic Shanghai taste that stir up my nostalgia of childhood favorite homemade dishes. Some employees can speak Shanghai dialect. Will go back for more.

Overall, the food was good and service is quick. Very authentic Shanghai food, especially recommend ??? and ????. The wonton was okay. However, they missed a dish when help us take out the rest of unfinished food. Minus one star.

Love Chef Zhao?s. My guy always gets the Dong po it?s not my thing but it tastes great. We had green beans and sweet and sour chicken and thick noodles. I was skeptical of ?thick noodles? but they were great. We try to get one different thing each time and I?m so glad we tried these. Great comfort food. They?ve been our Christmas Eve take out for the last several years and they don?t disappoint.

We got beef and broccoli, beef chow main and pork potstickers.. it was delicious! My son and I were very impressed. Definitely recommend.
