Floras was just opened under new ownership and wow is it wonderful! The owner Michelle and Johnny have created an upscale atmosphere with professional waitstaff and a cozy decor! The food was fabulous. We had a special, Buccacini with shrimp and scallops, and linguini in a white wine clam sauce. Both were delicious! For dessert we enjoyed carrot cake. We were recommended this place by Hilton head distillery, and apparently did not have a reservation and spin arrival was told that they were booked. Even though there were 6 empty spaces at the bar. Guaranteed we were the youngest in the restaurant by at 30 years and we have money. They could not accommodate us. View all feedback.
Floras recently underwent new management, and all I have to say is excellent. I was there for a business meeting with two other clients of mine, two of us ordered the veal cutlet and one ordered the linguine with shrimp. The food was absolutely amazing. I also had a cannoli and espresso for dessert which was to die for. I have eaten at many Italian restaurants across the country and I have to say Floras completely exceeded my expectations. Will be returning next time I visit.
I’d like to say Flora’s is back, but that would not recognize the quality, hospitality and overall great vision that the new owners have for Flora’s by Coastal Capri. They’ve kept the original name for now and added what will be the new permanent name. Coastal Capri. We met the sisters who are the new owners and their husbands that are the Chef and head bartender. Their vision for the restaurant is inspiring and the menu is very diverse and offers many great selections. I believe they told us the cuisine is geared around Southern Italian cooking. We talked for quite a long time and when you dine with them please feel free to have them tell you about their story. The food was delicious and the cocktails didn’t disappoint. The Italian Cosmo Martinis were perfect. We had Grilled Shrimp on greens for an appetizer. Meals were Vitello Peperonata and Linguini Shrimp Basiilica. Dessert consisted of Tiramisu and Cannoli in a Martini Glass. All were outstanding and the portions were abundant and cooked to perfection. The bread and dips that preceded the meal were hot and original. Flora’s By Coastal Capri is a must go and will not disappoint. We went in the middle of the week in what we consider the early part of the “off season” and it was full. With the new menu and new owners we will be sure to make Flora’s by Coastal Capri a regular visit for our family.
If could give six stars for the service….I would! As for the food, phenomenal to say the least! First time to the restaurant under new management and we were not disappointed. Chicken Parm was so tender and tasty! Could cut it with your fork! Same with the Veal Parm! Sauce is so fresh and cooked to perfection. Linguini with seafood was amazing and the eggplant app that they just placed on the table was incredible. So light and flavorful. Restaurant was not jammed for a Friday night, so do yourself a favor and support these new owners from Chicago! Another little gem for us all to enjoy!
I got the linguini shrimp diavolo and my husband got Vitello San Giuseppe. We loved it. The staff, food, and ambience was amazing. We highly recommend. Michelle was our waitress and she was awesome. The entire team was great too.
The food is amazing! The service is outstanding, everyone was very friendly and they wanted to be sure everything was enjoyable. Great ambiance! Definitely must try.
