Pita Pit - Palmerston North

I specifically requested a gluten-free option with careful attention to cross-contamination. The blonde girl attempted to pass my order off to her colleague and appeared annoyed when she had to take care of it herself. She took an unusually long time to start on my pita, spending more time chatting and laughing with her coworker rather than focusing on my order. I arrived just after 7 PM, and she only finished making my pita and placed it in the toaster at 7:16 PM. Throughout the process, she barely engaged with me. When it came to handling the gluten-free tortillas, she had difficulty separating them and ended up ripping some because she used a knife. As I began to list my desired ingredients, I asked for a couple to be grilled. She seemed visibly frustrated because she had already started adding other items to my pita. Eventually, she begrudgingly grabbed a separate bowl to add the grilled ingredients, but there was no communication from her during this process. When I requested another ingredient to be grilled, she audibly huffed and carelessly tossed it onto the grill, clearly irritated. I could no longer hold back my frustration and asked, “Are you alright?” This seemed to catch her off guard, and her attitude changed instantly upon realizing that I noticed her behavior. It was a truly unpleasant experience, marked by toxic staff attitudes toward customers. I will not be returning to this location; I only chose it because the Cuba Street store was closed. The food was decent, but the service left much to be desired. It felt as though customers were more of an inconvenience to the staff. They were slow to acknowledge us, and when I ordered a combo, my chips were never brought to the table. I had to practically wave my arms to get the attention of the half-dozen staff members who were just lingering around. When I finally received what I had paid for, there wasn’t even an apology. For a $25 lunch, I expected much better service. Oh well.

The customer service here is exceptional. The staff is always cleaning and maintaining a tidy environment, setting a great standard for other restaurants. I give it 5 out of 5 stars! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I loved this place, the pita was amazing and Georgi was an absolutely amazing customer server, she was really nice and patient with me as i havent eaten here in a while, i did bite my cheek whilst eating though, but i only have myself to blame as i got too into eating my amazing pita. i would 10/10 recommend main st pita pit Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: NZ$10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
