I went there with a friend while visiting the NT. There is lots of room, and the waitress we had serving us was a delight. We got our food quick, and as always Hoggies never disappoints in my opinion. It's in a convenient location in Palmerston close to bus stops, shops etc. Would definately go back next time I'm visiting! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Hog's Breath PALMERSTON NT:
Went out for birthday dinner , service was fine. Got seated near noisy bratty kids although restaurant was barely full at 6pm.. Ordered the usual 18 hr steak medium rare.. It wasn't medium rare, more medium to well. Daughter ordered water, tasted like they just did the dishes in it.. Ordered the choc mud cake dessert, was expecting it to be chocolately, moist and yummy like it's always been... But no.. Was an old dry... View all feedback.

My wife and I both ordered steaks when we dined at Hogs Breath because that is what they are supposed to be famous for. But we probably would have done better if we went to the local pub! According to the menu, my steak was supposed to be topped with crispy rashers of bacon. The bacon was a long way from crispy however and was instead barely cooked, limp and soggy, so the waitress took it back and had the meal re-made for which I sat and waited. When my meal re-appeared the bacon was indeed crispy, black and buggered more like it, but I was not prepared to wait any longer. So I proceeded to eat what was a completely un-enjoyable meal, after which we left the premises promising ourselves not to return. The service provided was adequate, but the restaurant lacked any real atmosphere and had as much life about it as a dying stick insect.
We were seated fairly quickly but that's where the service ended....Not a fan of cold lamb shanks either...

The tutti fruity dessert however hit the mark.
I have been going to Hogs Breath Cafe's since the only one in Australia was the one in Airley Beach back in the 90s. Since the franchise has expanded the service and atmoshere has stayed excellent but the quality of the steaks and portion sizes has reduced considerably. Ever since the 90s I have been going back to eat at the restraints around Darwin and the east coast and found them all the same. I had the crispy chicken burger which was very nice because I didn't want to be disappointed by the steak. The steaks are simply not what they used to be quite frankly the one that my wife had last night was what I would expect to get a local pub. I don't think I will be going back for a while or until I hear that things have improved (quality and size). It appears to me that Hogs may have lost the balance between quality and profits, by going to for more profits.
