Brought two back home--stale, flavourless, and dry, and supposedly made that morning. Obviously use margarine instead of butter. 15€ is far too much for it as well View all feedback.
San miguel street shop is a wonder of treatment and product. It is the second time we go to the palm of mallorca and have not hesitated to repeat every day. They have salty products and sweets very rich, my favorite: the ensaimada. We also visit the soller, Mr. alfonso is a speaker who recommends buying the ensaimadas to take in the shop of the center, at the airport are more expensive. next to the main square there is another one, in the modernist house. eagle house) We will return!
Ensaimada with dulce de leche is highly recommended. Great empanadas, good coffee, located in one of the most attractive buildings in Palma center.
My teenage daughter has just returned from holiday in Menorca and spent 20 euros buying one of the large plain Horno Santo Cristo ensaimadas from the airport. We have enjoyed eating these fresh in the past so were looking forward to eating this when she returned but unfortunately it is disgusting and bad enough to put us off having one again. The base was dense and very fatty, it had a layer of what seemed like lard across the bottom and soaked into it, and just seemed like we were eating mouthfuls of lard fat. There was nothing to enjoy. I tried warming it and putting on kitchen roll paper to try to soak up the fat, and also tried heating it on a rack in the hope the fat would drip away, but nothing worked and it is not edible. Unfortunately her 3 friends also bought them for their families and they are all really disappointed they can't eat it either. Such a shame and a waste of money as ensaimadas fresh from the bakery are delicious. Do not waste your money buying a pre boxed very expensive one.
