What User doesn't like about Freddies Kitchen At The Cole:
we were thrilled to try this new place, but it just fell on many flats. first the paper-dinner-napkin the stage for the evening, there was only one waiter who was also bartending and an eating runner who was eating ok, the best was the vegetable-Wellington, $300 for two people what I expected to pay but was disappointed View all feedback.
It was GREAT! Freddie and our server Christina were extremely kind and truly guided us through their menu. The Le Citron cocktail was excellent and they also gave us a great wine pairing with our meal. I had the escargot and my husband had the tomato salad and both were flavorful and delicious! We had the chicken special and short rib bolognese, also both delicious. Ended with the most delicious and simple crème brûlée. As a part timer in Palm Springs, this is a hidden jewel and wish Freddie and team much success and will definitely be back!
Our food was very good, as was service. The setting could use a boost, with perhaps some music for background. When it opened, Freddie's was really good value, but prices have climbed appreciably (not unusual, but the inflation feels like it's more than average for PS restaurants). We appreciate the chef-owner's friendliness and inter-activity, but one or two check-ins during a meal should be enough.
We dined on New Year’s Eve. The menu had a variety of amazing choices. The staff was very friendly and attractive. Courses were served promptly. Freddie himself came out towards the end of our meal to check on our meal and our evening. A truly memorable experience. We were visiting from the East coast but if we lived here we would dine here as often as we could. Exceptional!
Excellent French food in an small space. The waitstaff are personable, and the chef often appears and offers wine pairings and other advice if asked. Great experience. We have been twice now. The second time was a very busy New Year's Eve, and they really performed well, both food and service.
Had a lovely dinner. Started with Tatare, my sister had French Onion Soup. Both were so flavorful. Main courses were Fish and Chicken which were so good. Dessert, French Chocolate Mousse, so rich and delicious. Service outstanding, never rushed. The wine list is curated and excellent. We will definitely return.
