"I stayed at this hotel for two days with my family. The hotel was family-friendly and quiet. The reception staff was kind and accommodating. They gave me a room close to the pool, which was great. The pool itself was good. However, I wasn 't sure about the hotel 's meal options since breakfast was not included in the price, and I didn 't check it”.
What Robert B doesn't like about Courtyard By Marriott Palm Springs:
Arrived at 7:15pm on a Saturday evening, I was informed the Bistro is not opening tonight, but there is a restaurant within walking distance. I wanted dinner in the hotel because I have a 5:30am flight the next morning, wanted to eat and get to bed quickly. I don’t want to walk down the block to get dinner. The Bistro is why I book Courtyards. Never coming back here again. View all feedback.
I had an awful experience. The front desk man was extremely unhelpful. He was rude and looked me up and down like I was some sort of animal. My friend didn’t have a key to the room and I was busy about 45 mins away. When I called he wouldn’t let me add her name so that she can get a key. I had to get an Uber to deliver the key to her. So that was a waste of money that could’ve been avoided. I spoke with customer service on the phone and am waiting for a call back due to every interaction with this man was just horrible. The manager also requested to speak with me however, I was busy that day and couldn’t. Check in with him was awful, replacing some keys with him was awful, trying to get my friend a key was awful. I had questions and needed help with other stuff but I didn’t want to deal with him so I just dealt with those issues on my own. Sink water was coming out white like a milk color-that was concerning for us. Shower water didn’t really get cold but that was understandable bc it was 115°. I’m an elite member am I have to say that this experience has really put a bad taste in my mouth with Marriott. I will absolutely never stay at another courtyard and for now on will be avoiding Marriott. Last year I traveled full time for 6 months, now I travel about a eeek a month. So I’ll probably just be sticking to Priceline and Hilton. I enjoy earning points with Marriott but being treated like this is messed up. I was also embarrassed bc my friend was with me.
Rooms were good , well maintained , very close to downtown , friendly staff . I liked the shower area . Breakfast was shocking. We booked rooms including breakfast but to our surprise we found out that options were so much limited .They're pre made already . Refrigerator was not working initially . When I asked at the front desk they said there's a switch inside the fridge which should be turned on and then it'll get cooled but after 2 hrs it'll get switched off .Really ! that too in Marriott ! Good Lord ! No Breads , no toaster , no waffle , no boiled eggs , no butter , no jam , no milk , no cereals , no fruits . This is a basic breakfast menu and we never expected to be something like this from Marriott. They charged way more . It is so expensive. Don't know why . They need to change their weird breakfast ideas. For everyone else please book rooms only without breakfast and have it from somewhere else :
Staff friendly and helpful. 15 min walk to centre of Palm Springs. I object to paying $10 US per day for parking when there is plenty of free parking on the street and this hotel is not in a prime area. We had a room on the 1st (ground) floor. The building is 3 floors. Pool was lovely and we swam every day. Never saw any staff maintain or check pool. Sign saying no children with diapers and no family groups over 4 but we saw a family of ten including two babies with diapers. Why have pool rules if no one bothers to check? One family group of 10 in a small pool is off putting to other guests. The hotel is currently being repainted white which I’m sure will show dirt and stains a lot quicker than the current sand colour which looks just fine. Workmen are therefore up early making noise and there is scaffolding over a lot of the building. Rates should reflect this inconvenience. Man was mowing lawns outside our room at 7 a.m which was too early for a hotel that’s in a resort area. Biggest complaint was how noisy the place was. Several nights we were woken at 2 a.m with guests talking loudly in the corridors and I wear earplugs to bed. Maybe if you requested the 3rd floor it wouldn’t be as bad. Also the rooms were very dark and lighting was poor. Our shower door (room 154) did not close so you had to hold it closed with your foot whilst showering. Also one night we had horrible midges/flies covering our bathroom ceiling and had to swat them all. Unsure where they came from as we always had door closed. One large bottled water in the mini fridge for $6 which is greedy I think. Tap water a bizarre white colour every day, no idea what it was (see photo). Housekeeping only every third day no idea why. People still blaming Covid for things like this.
