I absolutely loved this restaurant! I ordered the simplest version of spaghetti pomodoro and was blown away by the incredible flavor packed into it. I definitely felt like I was transported to Nonna's kitchen! View all feedback.
What Mariano Kassulke doesn't like about Birba:
We had pasta, pizza and a salad. The pasta was good, the pizza was ok but a bit salty and the salad was salty to the point of being inedible, avoid the tricolore. The service was ok, although it felt as if we were being rushed to finish. We got there at 9 and the place closes at 10, they were already moving tables and stacking chairs at 9:30. Recommended for us by @daphae11, Birba is a force you have to count on. Wow, what a collection of flavors! They usually offer outdoor seating and reservations are strongly recommended. We arrived only 30 minutes after the opening on a Tuesday evening (without reservation) and were informed that our waiting would be 2 hours for a table. Luckily, their bar seats did not require a waiting time and offered a complete menu. This ended as an unpredictable result, as this allowed us to observe the many locals who frequently visited this facility. You have certainly added the local “Flamvor” here. As an appetizer we recommend “Nonna’s Spicy Meatballs”. No fear, their level of wort should not scare anyone away, and if it is coupled with their homemade slice bread, this combination is brilliant. While I literally felt guilty of ordering the “Tutto Carne Pizza” (which just felt so simple in a place that felt this demanding), I did not regret this choice for a second. Although I still claim that “I’m not a bread type”, the crust was simply incredible. If you order the “Spaghetti Pomodoro”, please note the subbing in the Zucchini noodles. Defen it worth thinking outside the box. While we thought our meal was excellent, the “Salted Butterscotch Pudding” brought the entire experience to a completely new Echelon. We found their customer service excellent and their musical choices to perfectly match their upscale mood (both in volume and song/genre selection). This is absolutely a great date night goal! And that's Henry's Take. #palmspringsitalianfood
Had a great dinner with my dad here! Sat outside under the tent with a heater close by and was very comfortable. Giselle was our server and she felt like family in the best possible sense by the end of our meal. We both remarked on how it has been awhile since we felt so taken care of at a restaurant. Understandably, COVID has worn everyone out in so many industries. We rarely go out for meals unless we know we can sit outside, mostly we just get to-go. But this was the first meal in ages where all the food was on point, drinks were outstanding, and the atmosphere felt warm inviting. We had the BBG, meatballs, tricolore salad as starters. The only thing we would punch up is the salad dressing, just a little more flavor it would be perfect. My dad had the margarita pizza I had the pomodoro. The portion on the pomodoro was a little small, but with all the starters, it ended up being the perfect amount. The pasta balance on the sauce was excellent, it would be my go-to comfort dish. I had a Blanton's old fashioned (shocked they even had Blanton's! and dad enjoyed his Montepulciano. No room for dessert, but we did take the lemon cake home for a delicious breakfast the next morning. Make this a spot to take your favorite people ask for Giselle!
100% need reservation got super happy and called them and they have random cancellation day off, I have no traction online booking something. Birba Pizza was fantastic and we definitely enjoyed the pasta and olive oil cake dessert. Also great drinks!
