What Anty V doesn't like about Azúcar Restaurant And Bar (21 Over):
Christmas Day prix fixe dinner was hugely disappointing. Most of the prix fixe menu items were unavailable . Our order was lost. A server brought out dessert and we had to inform him that we had not had our meal. We sat waiting for an hour while other diners who had arrived after us were departing. The entree appeared to have been thrown together with leftovers as we were later informed the kitchen was closing down.... View all feedback.
We started with the spicy melon margarita (which was incredibly smooth and delicious) and the blood orange margarita (also fantastic). The truffle fries were excellent. I had hoped to order the ahi bruschetta after reading reviews, but unfortunately, it was off the menu. My partner enjoyed the crab-filled poblano pepper, which had just the right amount of heat and a nice crumb topping. On our server's recommendation, I tried the chef's pasta with shrimp, which was excellent! The sauce was flavorful and beautifully presented. It was a great way to celebrate a birthday!
We had a fantastic dinner on the rooftop terrace. The ambiance, featuring mountain views, soft lighting, comfortable seating, and a wonderful fireplace, made our dining experience truly enjoyable. The service was outstanding, and the drink and wine menu was impressive. We tried the shaved Brussels sprout salad, the hard-fished dish, and the delicious poblano, all of which were excellent. Be sure to make a reservation and request seats on the upper floor. There’s also interior seating and additional outdoor seating by the pool. Two bars are available, one on each floor, but I highly recommend going up for a drink to take in the view and enjoy the fireplace area. The top floor offers plenty of seating options for those looking to enjoy drinks or light snacks. This is a must-visit restaurant/bar when in Palm Springs. We will definitely return and recommend it to our friends!
This was one of my favorite evenings during my 7-day stay in Palm Springs. Both the hotel grounds and the restaurant are stunning and eye-catching, and the food and drinks were excellent. The menu typically features American cuisine with a Mexican twist. I thoroughly enjoyed the scallops and polenta I ordered—they were delicious!
We celebrated a birthday for a friend visiting from out of town. The waitstaff was excellent, and they kindly allowed us to bring a cake for the birthday girl. The staff was lovely and very accommodating. The food was perfectly prepared, and the rooftop ambiance was wonderful!
We dined on the New Year's Eve prix fixe menu, and while the upstairs setting was delightful and the service friendly, our experience fell short. We had looked over the menu beforehand, but one of the main courses we had anticipated was not actually available, and the staff seemed unaware of this. I ordered the steak and lobster tail. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, but it was so tough and chewy that I couldn't eat it. The lobster tail was also less than appealing. The appetizer wasn't very enticing either, and the house wine by the glass was quite poor. While the cocktails were nice and the atmosphere pleasant, I would not recommend this place. Perhaps the chef had the night off for New Year's Eve and the staff couldn’t compensate, or maybe they simply didn’t procure quality cuts of steak.
