What John Alhelm doesn't like about Shogun:
Drink service was fine, but we had to wait a while for our food. Apparently a reservation doesn’t give you a good idea of when you’ll be eating. Food is very mediocre for the price. I guess you’re paying for the show. Meh. View all feedback.
My husband and I were in town on vacation and decided to try this place. We were the first ones there at 4 PM. We were greeted seated quickly. We started with edamame. It was a little too salty for me. We ordered three kinds of sushi 1/2 orders special for $24. We had the crunchy dragon roll, GSC roll, and the kamikaze roll. They were all delicious. Then I ordered the Imperial special with shrimp and he had his with scallops. we both had the ginger dressing salad one had the tofu miso soup the other the onion soup. Both soups were good. The ginger dressing on the salad was OK, I’ve had better. So Victor our chef was entertaining and quite funny. He had his own music which was perfect right up our alley. I’m not sure it would’ve been everyone’s taste, but it was good for us. He did ask and make sure that it was OK with us. He did a great job. Attached volcano video. The steak chicken and shrimp tasted good as did the scallops for my husband. We would come back again if we’re in the area or visit another Shogun restaurants at any of the other locations if we have the opportunity.
Worst place EVER! No point in making reservations for a big party if they ain’t going to do their job and make us feel welcome here. We were a party of 13 and they Did not seat us all together. Minding you, we had kids. They had kids at another table. I had made reservations weeks prior. This not acceptable. Just make this restaurant look BAD. I took the initiative to fit everyone in one table but it was very uncomfortable. We waited 1 1/2 hrs for a chef to arrive to the table. And the food portion is small. Not worth your money or time. Visit out here from a different city and I’ll NEVER WILL BE COMING BACK HERE.
Not only was the food lame and tasteless but we waited for one hour sitting down on our table waiting for our cook to arrive. I ordered the New York steak and shrimp, the first things he cooked was the steak and the shrimp, and left the rice for the end. By the time he finished cooking and served all our food I ended up eating cold steak and shrimp. Steak is the last thing you cook as it takes just a few minutes to cook, that's cooking 101 !!! Any chef should know that!!
This place use to be real good with customer service now it seems to suck, food orders forgotten, cooks are Hispanic not oriental Don't know how to serve customers. Don't go there!
I’ve been to many teppanyaki restaurants and I always enjoyed the food, but not this time! Worst place. The food was very tasteless. We waited an hour for the chef. I felt like we had an untrained chef cooking for us. I would never go back to this restaurant.
