Pokehana - Palm Desert

So good, so fresh, and generous portions for a good price. The staff are always really nice too! I gravitate towards ahi and salmon every time, and love their homemade drinks!

Wake up Palm Desert, this place should be mobbed! I ate here for the first time after a hike with a friend. We both loved it as its the perfect thing after getting out and about. The food is super fresh and very flavorful. The portions are generous. Best of all, you can select the items you want in your bowl. (I call these buddha bowls for those who love them as well. If you are unfamiliar with the sauces or just want to be sure of what you select, the staff is happy to give you a taste. The setting is very unassuming and basic but don 't let that fool you as the food is not.

I opened the door and stepped inside with my wife. The unpleasant odor of decaying fish hit us immediately. Without hesitation, we turned around and walked out. That was our experience.

The food is decent, but I don’t quite understand the hype surrounding it. The portion sizes are okay, and the flavor is alright, but it feels a bit pricey for what it is. I've had better poke for a lower cost and larger portions. It reminds me of the Chipotle of poke places. Food rating: 4/5.
