Jw Marriott Sushi - Palm Desert

Came the the resort for 4 days to celebrate our wedding anniversary and honestly we ate most of our meals at Rockwood Grill. We had the buffet breakfast every morning which was great, but what really took our breath away were the views at night sitting outside. We even came once to sit at the bar to watch the Cowboys Giants game and ordered from their Happy Hour while we waited for our room to be ready. Every server we had was just absolutely top notch and would love to thank all of them for treating us so well. Our last night here we ate at the best table outside which was right next to the water. Our server ended up giving up complimentary champagne since it was our anniversary and that was the perfect touch to end our vacation here! After dinner, we ordered a bottle of Meomi's Pinot Noir and sat by the fire pits as we talked about what an amazing trip we had under the stars. We loved it here!

A great place to eat at JW Marriott Desert Springs. Located on the lower level of the main hotel adjacent to the pond and main pools. Rockwood serves breakfast. lunch. dinner. Lots and lots of options. It's the perfect place to eat after your round of golf on the Palm Course and a place to get outta the heat. The Marriott Burger is hearty and they have tons of salad options. Good service. Lovely vibe too. Good option if you're on property and you don't wanna venture too far.

Rockwood had an amazing staff and a manger who always made me feel like their favorite customer. Depending on your fancy try the breakfast buffet with lots of options or their great lunch and dinner options a such as their signature burger.

My 3 girlfriends and I came here for a dinner here to celebrate the birthdays of 2 of our friends in the group. I have particularly wished we celebrated the birthdays at the JW Marriott's Mikado restaurant for their nicer ambiance and experience but it was closed at the time we were there. I was however reassured that Rockwood Grill will be good, and they were right about it! Food was decent, and the ambience was good but most importantly our service was excellent! We made sure we were on time with our dinner because we were also going to Janet Jackson's concert as part of the birthday celebrations and they were on point on everything we requested of them! We ordered the tuna tartare and crispy calamari for our appetizers then had 2 grilled salmon, and scallops for our main for our group of 4 shared as family style and it was plenty! We even had leftovers that went to waste! Over all food was great! The service was amazing. Our water was very professional and very friendly and went above and beyond! He even made sure our 2 friends who were celebrating their birthdays had cakes for their celebration! Ambiance is nice and definitely the service, impeccable! Will definitely go back there again! Health Department Major violation: Inspector observed several improper hot and cold holding temperatures including several salmon pieces stored in the pull-out drawer at the flip-top cooler to measure 45F and observed six other food items between 47-48F in the walk-in refrigeration next to the cook's line. The manager voluntarily discarded the food items and all other potentially hazardous foods during inspection. The walk-in was then repaired during the inspection. Inspector also observed the large high-temperature dishwasher to measure 148F; the small high-temperature dishwasher to measure 137.1F (operators were instructed to discontinue usingthem until they were repaired); Minor violations: No paper towels inside the paper towel dispenser at the hand wash sink; no paper towel dispenser installed at the hand wash sink near the dessert station/sushi area; no paper towels inside the dispenser at the hand wash sink near walk-in refrigeration; no soap inside the soap dispenser inside the bar area; no paper towels installed at the dessert area/sushi area hand wash station; several flies in the bar area; a few flies inside the kitchen area; doors to the patio area near the kitchen entrance had gaps; a knife and spatula stored inside a sanitizer bucket with wiping cloths; several food items uncovered inside the bar area and dessert refrigeration area; several plastic containers/dish storage in several bins used as scoops; several items in need of repair including: the walk-in refrigerator, flip-top cooler, dessert 2-door refrigeration, large high-temperature dishwasher, small high-temperature dishwasher, reach-in refrigeration #23, wine cooler storage, pasta station drawers, rotisserie chicken oven; grease and food build-up in multiple areas and more. I eat here when I golf. Very disappointed to read this.
