Lovely spot overlooking the marina. Courteous and attentive staff. Seated and served promptly. Saganaki (haloumi) and garlic bread very nice and Atlantic salmon perfectly done. Good portion sizes. Not a fan of seeing live lobster tanks right near the tables - but it is a seafood restaurant after all. View all feedback.

What User dislikes about Georges Paragon:
Eight of us had dinner last Friday and were disappointed with our meals. The entree of garlic prawns had 4 small prawns and minimal garlic. The main course of lightly battered whiting was flavourless. The restaurant was full obviously based on its reputation. Our waitress Claudia was very pleasant. Lobster mornay was advertised as the speciality but we were told they do not offer fresh lobster with lemon. View all feedback.

My description comes from my sister's delight at the twinkling fairylights illuminating branches standing sentinel in huge Greek urns throughout this restaurant and creating a magical feeling that our partners also enjoyed. We did queue to get in on a Saturday night and the restaurant does not take bookings. Coming later is good, as by 8:30pm we were one of the few tables still occupied. Much of the restaurant is outside under enormous canopies, so it feels indoors, and right by the water. Now to the seafood, it is fresh and some of it can be seen swimming in tanks near the entrance. Between us we had prawns, fish, oysters, calamari and pork for my sister who does not like seafood but took us to Georges because she knows we do. The food was excellent as was the service.

Great location right on the beach front at Coolangatta . Good range of food for all ages and budget . Alcoholic drinks can make it a tad expensive but the prawns I had with my salad were the freshest and best I 'd had in a very long time.Worth a visit for sure.

I'm usually described as a fussy eater but the choice here is great. Friends had the oyster selection to start and were impressed. The lobster main course was divine because it was cooked so well. It melted in your mouth without any chewiness that you sometimes get. The fish of the day was worth having with perfectly done vegetables. The setting was beautiful with views of the bridge and Brisbane at night. Service is attentive and we all came away impressed. Don't miss the opportunity to go.

Almost walked away based on first impression of harangued maitre d, however as little else in general vicinity decided to stick it out. Pleased we did as the personal service, tasty food, linen table cloth/napkins and general ambience made it worthwhile.
