Coolinary Cafe - Palm Beach Gardens
Coolinary Cafe
Description
At this popular eatery, patrons seem divided in their opinions. While the vibrant bar scene garners praise, the food has received mixed reviews. Some diners laud exceptional dishes like beet salad and pork chop, recommending nearly the entire menu, while others report disappointing meals, particularly at a high price point. Celebratory visits yielded delightful moments, with conch fritters and decadent desserts stealing the show. Overall, while there are culinary triumphs, inconsistency appears to be a recurring theme, leaving diners questioning the restaurant's fervent acclaim. Whether a hit or miss, the experience fosters spirited discussions among its visitors.

It appears that this restaurant tends to have a long wait during peak season, but it's absolutely worth it. The chef showcases remarkable creativity in the menu, allowing guests to choose between small and large plate options. While the seating is somewhat limited, I'd be content just grabbing a spot at the bar. Among the menu items, the Boneless Southern Fried Chicken Waffle stands out as both delicious and innovative, but I particularly love the Chitarra Pasta. Although the atmosphere can get a bit loud, it hardly matters when you’re enjoying such fantastic food.
Outstanding! I stopped by to see if I could watch a football game on the SEC network, which at first glance they did not get. I resigned myself to not being able to watch my game and ordered. The manager was not going to let it die and called the owner at home to figure out how to get the game on for me. Staff all go the extra mile. Food is incredible, had the chicken and waffles and the carrot cake waffles for dessert. Simply outstanding from start to finish!
We found our new FAVORITE restaurant in Palm Beach Gardens, Coolinary Cafe – a Tim Lipman Restaurant . This Farm-to-Table restaurant really delivers on top notch service along with outstanding comfort food. This visit for dinner was the highlight of our overnight stay in Palm Beach Gardens. Located away from the main strip of PGA Blvd, Coolinary Cafe is located in a strip mall that houses a few other restaurants and shops. We heard that Coolinary Café fills up quickly so we headed over at about 6PM. Parking is valet or self park and we were early enough to find parking very easily. The host greeted us and explained we could be seated at a table, or seat ourselves at a spot at the bar. We chose to sit at the bar and so glad we did as you can see the whole kitchen, almost making a separate show. The inside is smaller than you’d expect, but it’s set up very nicely. Tables run along the left wall and the front and the bar is in the middle with a direct view of the kitchen area.
Amazing place. Prepare for a wait if you are going with a date. Get a group of friends together and go as they only take reservations for 6 or more. I tried about 10 different items the other night and loved them all, especially the duck!
Living in the Northern Palm Beaches is a privilege. I spend my days in shorts and flip-flops, assisting people with their real estate needs throughout Palm Beach and Martin counties. I get to meet interesting new people, have fun, and part of my job involves knowing about the local scene—especially when it comes to restaurants. I run my own brokerage because I prefer independent businesses over chains; I believe that small, local establishments are the true backbone of America. The same goes for restaurants. When I discover passionate and creative chefs, I know I've struck gold. It's clear from the moment you meet Tim Lipman that he is something special, and his delightful restaurant is a treasure nestled in the heart of the Jupiter/Palm Beach Gardens culinary landscape. I realized Tim's talent when I experienced his Brussels sprouts. I'm not a fan of them, having tried them prepared in various ways, but he manages to create a version that I actually enjoy. That's quite a feat! Tim and his team at Coolinary Café also take advantage of social media to share their daily specials on Facebook, and those familiar with me know how much I love social media. Feel free to look me up on Facebook, invite me to connect, and see what I mean. Every day, I check in to see what Tim has dreamed up, and if it looks amazing— which it often does—you can bet I'll be heading his way. Recently, the daily specials really caught my attention. I’m glad I listened because the meal my wife and I had that evening was possibly one of the Top 10 meals I've ever experienced. We started with two of the evening's special appetizers: pan-seared scallops and pork tacos. Both dishes sent us into culinary bliss. The scallops were exquisitely cooked and beautifully presented, accompanied by a celery root and apple salad with dehydrated tomato and a fantastic pesto. I can't figure out how Tim accomplishes it all, but I'm incredibly grateful that he does— it brings me immense joy. The pork tacos were equally exceptional. The perfectly seasoned pork was complemented by a lime kohlrabi slaw, radish, and cotija cheese, leaving us craving more. The kitchen was clearly in high gear that night, and when Tim stopped by our table to say hello and hinted that the cobia special was spectacular, I had my entrée picked out. Living in a coastal village in southern Florida, I have a great love for fish and enjoy it frequently. That night, Tim prepared the cobia with a smoked curry rub and served it on a crispy boniato hash brown base, accompanied by bananas, grilled zucchini, and a carrot jalapeño salad. The combination was a flavor explosion, a masterpiece only a creatively gifted chef could conceive. It was truly amazing, unique, and delicious— exactly what Coolinary Café stands for. If you haven't been yet, make a point to go. If you’ve been but didn’t quite “get it,” I encourage you to return. And if you've already had the experience and loved it, I apologize for this review, as it might mean a longer wait for your next visit. However, I hope it brings Tim some new fans, as he certainly deserves them. Just mention that the Paradise Sharks sent you, and keep an eye out—I might be sitting right next to you. A big thumbs up for Coolinary Café!
