The bread and garlic spread was delicious as was the vegan crab cake. They also did a vegan mushroom dish that was great. They have a special vegan menu but you have to ask for it. I got the beet risotto. It has the most delicious mushrooms in it.
Their vegan crab cakes are freakily good and can even fool non-vegans. Though it is not a cheap place, the portions do fill you up and it is another great place to go to when going out to eat with non-vegan friends/family members. The mushroom escargot is also good. Only thing I’m missing is an actual vegan dessert other than sorbet.
I went to Papillon in June of 2021 and my experience fell short of the expectations I had from reviews I had read and their impressive vegan menu. I got the crab cakes for dinner because they were out of the vegan coq au vin, much to my disappointment. The crab cakes were good but not amazing and certainly not amazing enough to justify the price. The presentation was lack luster and the salad and vegetables that accompanied the crab crabs were bland and flavorless. Simple steamed vegetables with a parsnip purée and a salad consisting of warm lettuce and a small drizzle of balsamic dressing. The food was all agreeable but nothing that would justify the prices or make me want to return. Disappointing as it was chosen as our fancy dinner for our final night in Aruba.
Beautiful restaurant with 3 delicious options. Crab cakes and bouillabaisse were both delicious. Unfortunately vegan coq Au vin was not available.
Really wanted the crab cakes but they were out. **** au vin was good though. The service was great and the resturant was very nice. Very happy to have found a vegan menu....although you have to know it's available and ask for it.
