Soonfat - Palembang

I am speechless. This is one of Korean Barbeque Eateries in Indonesia that taste similar to what I experienced in Korea, with affordable price!. . I tried so many menus at the same time and none of them let me down. All beef cuts barbeque was superb. Meltique beef, short rib plate, beef short plate, rib eye, all greatly executed. No sauce needed. However the three sauce condiments: garlic-salt-blackpepper-sesame oil, ssamjang, and citrusy-ponzu like sauce I didn't know the name; truly escalates the beef. . I also tried dak jjajangmyeon (fried jjajangmyeon, and it was fairly similar to original version). Yangnyeom chicken is another story. Delicious! Makes me want more. Side dish such us chawan mushi, was so delicious I can't believe they can twist a Japanese menu into Korean vibe. Rice ball with mayo on top? Mindblowing! . I of course love cold corn silk tea, but korean mojito was a blast. I hope Soon Fat can deliver the same quality each time I visit.

All seats are outdoor. Got many kinds of beef and chicken menu to order. They got the seasoning and marination right for the meat. They also use charcoal to grill. It can be too much smoke sometimes, recommended for meat eater in Palembang area.

I dont know why I dont really like this place, maybe because I dont like everything with smoke. The place is full of smoke, because the pipes doesnt exhaust the smoke. The pipes are only like a display, they doesnt give any function of an exhaust. And according to me, the activity to change the charcoal and grill are too often, somewhat uncomfortable for me and my friends. These conditions made me not too enjoy my meals. Maybe I am not suitable for this kind of restaurant.

The meat and mushrooms was great. Drink options could be improved. Overall an okay choice if you're craving some Korean BBQ. Expect street food ambiance.

Food is quite tasty, place is a bit noisy due to the passing vehicles. overall, recommended for those who want to have cheap but great barbeque
