Decided to go here for breakfast. Had not been in a couple of years. We had a full order of biscuits and gravy and it’s a big order enough to fill me up. It was yummy. What Madalyn King doesn't like about Colee's:
Ordered a couple breakfast sandwiches to go as we didn’t have time to sit. It took around 45 mins to get them (20 mins or so the sandwiches were sitting on a counter). The younger staff definitely needed some training on the menu and how to take an order. Another woman that helped us after was very nice. Well, I must say, I was pleasantly surprised I have been hearing about their breakfast, but I got there too late. I ordered a BLT and fries. The service is good, it took about 12 minutes to bring my food. I don't know exactly what kind of bread that they're using, but that was one of the best BLTs I've ever had. Not dry, not sloppy.
A wonderful mom and pop restaurant. My husband and I went to breakfast. The restaurant is clean and the walls are decorated with a variety of antique tools and such. Our waitress who later told us that she was the owner's daughter fast, friendly and knowledgeable. Although the restaurant was busy, we could sit down and our orders were taken within minutes. Eight minutes later we were served. The food was beautifully presented. After breakfast we ordered a cinnamon roll which is advertised on the menu to take home. A cinnamon roll is HUGE. Actually enough to feed 3-4 people! We heated it home later. It was disgusting! I didn't mention that they had delicious homemade bread for toast! Also found that the owners make the food. You can definitely say they are proud of it. A defined hidden jewel in Palatka! Look at it.
Best breakfast place in town! Homemade bread. Amazing service. Very recommended.
