Pho Son Ha - Palatine

Awesome first time there, food was delicious, service was great!

The décor reminded me of a 1980s cheap bar. But I'm not here for the décor when I go to a Vietnamese restaurant for PHO. The restaurant was clean. Floor was clean, tables were clean. Now more importantly the broth. Nice little puddles of fat. A little bit heavy on the cinnamon which I'm OK with. I enjoy heavy on the spice. Could have had a little more beef flavor for my taste.... everyone is different. Very generous with the accompaniments. The owner came out and is oh so friendly and accommodating. All in all, a good spot.

Tonight we had pho ga, which you get assemble on your own which is great! My wife was able to as much or as little as she liked. Little less noodle, part of of the chicken, all of the herbs and veggies. The broth was fantastic with a nice star anise flavor. The jalapeños were nice and hot. We also got the chicken fried rice. My youngest, who is determined to eat fried rice at every restaurant in the Northwest Suburbs, loved it. Also got the pepper steak. Very high pepper to beef ratio for people who want a little more veggies (like me), peppers and carrots were fantastic. Can't wait to try them again! Pad Thai looked great and I am curious about how they will do it.

Was starving wanted to go somewhere new different, so I tried this resturant surprisingly it 's near me! Very delicious, like each plate was $14 or less. Food was fresh hott! The menu has hard names, the good news that you can just order the . I thought the portions were going to be smaller but look at the pictures it was a full plate. Amazing service keep checking on me giving me constant refill on my water, without me even having to ask her. She even said she is glad I came will be waiting to see me back soon! Me my mom ate everything on the plate including the decorations, we got full (even tho we thought we had to order more food before we actually saw the portion size of the food on the plate). I did go back again since it 's great food for reasonable price 's. Amazing service like last time!
