The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and the service is top-notch. I highly recommend it.
I have visited the hippy chippy several times in the past few years and never left a review. However, tonight was the last straw. It is a mediocre chip shop that has continued to decline over time. I ordered a sausage supper and what was served was inedible, as shown in the photo. The sausage itself was decent, but the chips were terrible. In my opinion, a chip shop should always excel in their chips.
Placed order, full meal missing. Spoke to delivery driver told me to call shop. Phoned shop and the attitude of the manager Monica was absolutely disgusting, spoke to me like I was the one that made the mistake and hung the phone up after a barrage of abuse!! Food was rotten, portions tiny! Avoid!!
I ordered a fish supper, but the batter was pale and soggy. The fish was likely pollock, the cheapest option available, and it still had the skin on. This restaurant used to be good, but it's terrible now. I won't be returning.
The portion size is shocking, last time I buy from here, got my son chips and cheese and had to send him to another chippy to get something else. I got hamburger supper with very few chips
