Was Debbie at Cafe Mambo a mag?
We went to Paia for a quick visit and to watch surfers up the road and were looking for a place for lunch. There were long line ups at the places on the Main Street so we wandered down and found Cafe Mambo, not really knowing what to expect. Our server was amazing very energetic and bubbly, sharing stories about growing up in the area. The sandwiches were very well done and flavourful and beat our expectations, as we... What Dariana Rogahn dislikes about Cafe Mambo:
The manager and a host were present when I entered and they did not greet me. I actually think they glared at me, after a few awkward moments I explained that I made a reservation for 10 via opentable, they had no idea what I was talking about. After checking the reservations they found my party and found room for us. I was waiting by the door and when i went to sit on the couches there were two big piles of spit on... View all feedback.

The food at this restaurant is delicious, and the atmosphere is cute and casual. It is an amazing lunch spot! The service, meal type, and price per person are all great. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a 5 out of 5.

For years, my family and I have been visiting Maui and Café Mambo was always one of our favorite restaurants in Paia. We used to love their chicken Fajitas and would dream about them. However, on three separate occasions when we arrived a little late at 7:45 pm, we were told that they were closed. When we finally managed to get a table, it was wet and dirty and the waiter was unfriendly and unmotivated. They didn't even provide enough glasses for all of us. To our disappointment, the chicken Fajitas were no longer on the menu. The wraps came in a dirty container and we were surprised to find that there was no feta cheese and only a tiny amount of guacamole. Despite the food being okay, we were left feeling disappointed. It seems that the owner has changed and they no longer have the same love and aloha spirit in their restaurant. It's a shame to see such a great place, which used to be one of the best places to eat in town alongside Jacque's Bistro and Café des Amis, decline in quality. We really hope to see some improvements in the future.

We came here once and forgot to take pictures, because as soon as I saw my food I mowed it in about two minutes. So we came back a couple days later, because the crispy duck burger is one of the best things I have ever eaten, and I am an accomplished eater.I am certain the other food here is good, but the only reason you shouldn't order the duck burger is because you ordered two.Get the onion rings, put one o' dem bad boys on it. Slather your upper bun with the curry mayo. Ask for a second tub of it. Ifyou're doing it right, you'll run out. Absolutely bonkers delicious.

We went there mid September on a Friday night around 7pm. They closed at 8pm. The had their famed crispy duck fajita and the fresh fish fajita. Both came with an assortment of guacamole, sour cream, tomato sauce, salad etc served on a different plate, along with the fajitas and the duck and fish each on different plates. We loved both! The duck was juicy and crispy; but toooily. The fresh fish unfortunately overcooked. This is a nice , original place to hang. Easy going, great after surfing whenhanging out with yiur friend. The staff was super friendly even we were the last guests before closing.
