Visited in a Tuesday evening. Service was slow but friendly, had to wait quite a while for plates to be cleared and had to sadly grab servers attention for drinks. Asked for a wine recommendation and the house was what was provided and very little interaction overall. Food was okay, not sure it met value for money. Side salad very over peppered and the monkfish, although fresh and well cooked had very little else. Restaurant was overly warm and brightly lit. No music or feel of atmosphere. There was obviously in the past an attention to detail that this restaurant deserves but sadly along the way this has been lost, dirty side plate, no clearing of starter cutlery or decorative wine glasses which stayed throughout the meal. Generally disappointing for the money you pay but a clean relaxed restaurant for a relatively pleasant evening.
I visited St Petroc's three years ago and came away disappointed. Three years on and not much has changed. Unfortunately, drenching everything in butter does not completely mask the taste of this distinctly average food. Expect slow service and inflated prices. If you enjoy throwing money away, this is the place for you.
Absolutely amazing and wonderful experience today, Sunday 3rd September. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We were made to feel very special. We had the lobster, lemon sole and the monkfish. All arrived at the same time, super fresh and hot. We all had a pudding, you can’t fault the sticky toffee pudding. Can’t wait to return. Olivia and Jaz did an amazing job today. Service: 5
