We stayed in the first floor apartment. It is really a studio apartment with a small kitchen and table with chairs. The apartment is nicely decorated and clean, and the location was perfect for our needs. We would definitely come back if we're in Padova again. Mauro the host was very friendly and helpful. We booked a Double-Room for April 16, 2020 to April 20, 2020 in Casa Del Pellegrino to visit Padua and to take part at the Padua-Marathon. Due to the Corona-Exit-Lock, which had been extended up to May 03, 2020 by the Italian government and other regulations concerning staying in a hotel on touristic reasons, it was not possible to travel to Padua and to stay in the hotel. Starting on April 12, 2020, we tried to contact Casa del Pellegrino via Mail and the contact form on the hotel-homepage and asked them to refund the already paid rate incl. breakfast of 410 €. We also mentioned, that we would accept a voucher, if the regulations in Italy do foresee this for the Corona case, since we intended to visit Padua and take part at the Marathon on a later time. Since there was no reaction, we repeated our messages to the hotel via E-Mail resp. contact form on April 14, 2020, April 16, 2020, April 28, 2020 and May 13, 2020. We did not receive any reply or reaction on our mails with our request to refund the money or to give us a voucher. Now on January 06, 2021 we were very astonished, that we were asked per mail to report about our stay, which did definitely not take place due to Corona regulations of the government of Italy. It seems that there is something wrong with the management of the hotel. We are very disappointed and kindly ask Casa del Pellegrino again to solve the problem. This was a great option for a big family as the room had 3 beds and a queen's bed also in a really big space and they didn't charge for the third child, as we booked only for two (we didn't have the option to choose 3). But the thing that missed from the room was a refrigerator. It is very difficult to be with 3 kids without having the option of a cool water or a fruit. We would like also some more egg options in the breakfast like omelette, egg eyes and fresh tomatoes. The staff were all very helpful and the hotel was in a place close to historical center where you can go easily by car (there is a big space in frond of the hotel to park for some minutes). There is also a paying parking space inside the hotel, but maybe we could find outside a space also. The exhaust in the bathroom is incredibly noisy and it takes a very long time to go off after the light has been turned off. overall it's a good option for a family.
I have several complaints to make concerning my 5 day stay at the Casa del P. from February 14-19, 2018. Twice in 3 days the extra roll of toilet paper was missing from my room. The waste paper basket was not put back in its place but was put next to the other one in the bedroom. One evening when I returned to my room, the light in my bathroom was on and the air exhaust was roaring. Was the light left on all day ? Here are my suggestions to improve things. The exhaust is incredibly noisy and it takes a very long time to go off after the light has been turned off. This suggests that the exhaust needs to be cleaned. To make sure that the cleaner does not forget to put a second roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, the cleaner must have a checklist with her every time she cleans the rooms and must use it in each room. There are no toiletries or amenities offered; it is very limited but at least make sure that the minimum offered is provided : toilet paper etc. V. de Lima
