Pretty straightforward pub-fare done very well. Can recommend the rump, great chips and an outstanding chimichurri sauce. Comfortable setting for 5 upstairs in a bright-airy space View all feedback.
What Jesús Casares doesn't like about Royal Hotel Paddington:
This is basically an English style pub venue with reliable good pub grub (steak, bangers n mash, fish n chips etc). The location is good, and the rooftop is cool however its slightly pricey for all the above. Only buy beers from the ground floor... they are twice the price on the other floors which I find ridiculous. Good place overall. View all feedback.
I was looking forward to this restaurant after hearing good things but, even though I booked the “restaurant” we were moved to a bar area to a high table with stools. So noisy couldn’t hear each other. Staff couldn’t really explain why this happened. Spoiled what’s could have been a lovely night.
The food is great, well above average pub food. The space is very attractive, but the actual dining area is quite small if you're seated next to a large group it can get really loud, to the extent of making conversation difficult. The rooftop and balcony are great to sit and have a drink with a view.
A gorgeous pub in a great location with a relaxed vibe and really good service! The menu gives you a pretty extensive choice and they offer kids meals too. The roof terrace is small, but the view is lovely, and it's definitely worth hanging out for an hour or two.
The Royal after so many years remains one of Sydney's best pubs and best pub dining rooms...food quality is excellent and the prices are sensible only negative is the very limited wine list and they will not allow BYO. The top price is $95 so the wine list is very reasonably priced. In the heart of 5 ways Paddington...an icon stands tall
Fun, local gem in the heart of Paddington's Five Ways. Always a great spot to pop into for a beverage, a lunch with friends, watch the sport or just relax. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and happy to help. There's also live music frequently which is a bonus. Enjoyed the beef burger and did not disappoint. A plus is also they had a couple of non-alcoholic beers for those (like myself) enjoying Dry January, as well as mocktail options.
