After a Five hour trip through the surrounding Woods I was relieved that there was the Salzstiegelhaus serving a warm mushroom soup and bread with roast porc, a good glass of wine and a decent coffee. The view, the Fresh breaze and the surroundings made...it great for the two of us! I have not yet visited the Salzstiegelhaus during winter but I will try in the Season View all feedback.
What Sarita Caputo doesn't like about Salzstiegelhaus:
after a very nice hike to the rappoldkogel we arrived to eat on the afternoon. The service was rather annoyed about our annoyance and order. which is to be expected on a sunny Sunday, is clear to us. but I do not see that we are waiting for food with a hungry little child over 1 hour, known to the waitress at the tables but immediately get her to eat. eating itself was not a highlight, but ok. we will not return to th... We are coming in before the rode. for the fact that only very little was going on, we waited for the service for a long time. the ordered dips were edible, but also not (vanilla sauce liquid and barely tasted, cheese paret with gorgonzola, chili con carne a la bolognese.)
After a longer hike we came here and tried the sash-globulasch offered in the map with a dumpling. was really excellent and also from the price ok. also the service was friendly and endeavored. will surely come back.

We were here several times during a trip to lunch and have never been disappointed. also with great urge, the service staff keeps the overview and you are served quickly and friendly. Furthermore, the price-performance ratio is really good, eating so far has tasted all.
After a beautiful hike at the speik we have set ourselves to the salt climbing house and have eaten excellent for our surprise. I had a hard-to-builder, the meat was crispy and delicate inside and well seasoned, the same meat came out of a construction, also tasted excellent. the frying came out of the oven, no microwave-heated eating. when I eat at the last bauernschmaus (in Alsace in the famous "le boef rouge" in andlau - there is this court choucroute,) no comparison, much more tasteful and more juicy. Unfortunately, the ambiente is little gratifying, an almhütte which is somehow furnished and not just tastefully cultivated, unfortunately smoking some people (no smoking). there you should look for tirol (zb in the dolomites, sella), there almhütten look much more well-kept and cleaner. yet highly recommended from eating if you leave the ambiente aside. service is friendly and fast.
