What Jason P dislikes about El Agave:
I ordered two fajita taco salads to go and enjoyed a beer while waiting. I've ordered this dish before, and it usually comes in a large hard-shell taco. However, this time the bill was $33.57! When I got home, I found the food was served on top of chips that were already soggy—not in a taco shell like I expected. It was also way too salty, and we ended up throwing it away. I visited Pacific, Missouri, and dined at this restaurant for dinner. Both the drinks and food were fantastic! My husband ordered the wings while I enjoyed a bean enchilada with rice. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was delightful.
We arrived late, just an hour before closing on a week night but they were still prepared and the food did not seem stale or overly held. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive!
This restaurant is quite impressive! The chips are fresh, and the salsa and queso are delicious. My son ordered the vegetarian fajitas, which were surprisingly tasty without any meat. I opted for the Fajita Bowl, while my husband chose the enchiladas accompanied by two tacos. Everything was excellent and portion sizes were generous; we could have easily shared a plate. I also thought it was really great that they use biodegradable straws—I'm not sure why that stood out to me, but it did! We decided to sit outside since the weather was nice, and the service was fantastic, which can sometimes be lacking when dining al fresco. Our waitress was outstanding, and for three of us along with a 32-ounce beer, our bill came to under $50. I'm certain we will be back!
This is an excellent Mexican restaurant, especially for a small town like Pacific. The food is top-notch, the drinks are excellent, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Given the limited dining options we have in this area, I'm truly grateful for this gem.
I ate there on the first day when it was opened and countless paintings returned. never a contempt.
**Restaurant Review: A Mixed Bag of Experiences** Nestled in the heart of Pacific, this Mexican restaurant presents a varied dining experience. While some patrons rave about its inviting atmosphere, exceptional service, and flavorful dishes, others express disappointment over inconsistent food quality and pricing. Signature items like the fajita taco salad have received criticism for being soggy and overly salty, while drinks have been described as mediocre. However, for many, the restaurant's friendly staff and vibrant décor enhance the experience, making it a popular choice in the area. With its mix of positive and negative feedback, guests may find worth in their visit but should manage expectations.

**Dining Experience: Dinner** **Price Range per Person:** $30–$50 **Food Rating:** 4/5 **Service Rating:** 4/5 **Atmosphere Rating:** 4/5 Overall, I had a delightful dinner experience. The quality of the food was impressive, earning a solid four out of five. The service was attentive and friendly, also deserving of a four-star rating. The atmosphere was inviting and enjoyable, making for a pleasant dining environment.
Highly unrecommended. The margaritas tasted liked margarita mix and water. The food was just as bland. The $13 burrito was at best a $8.99 burrito. The service was less than par as well. Not all ordered drinks were served and by the you are checked in on it was pointless to remind the server of the missed drink order. I wish I was exaggerating but you’re better off to buy a premixed marg from the store and Taco Bell for a more satisfying meal. I’ll never go back.

The food was fantastic, and the service was fast and professional. We had a party of four adults and two children, and everyone left feeling happy. The restaurant had a lovely decor, and the kids really enjoyed the vibrant colors. It's definitely the best Mexican food in the area!
When I lived in Pacific, I used to visit this restaurant often. I was in town yesterday and chose to eat there again. I ordered my usual dish, and while the friendly atmosphere and excellent service remained, the food seemed different. It was good, but it had more of a Mex-American flavor rather than the authentic Mexican taste that I remembered from before. I'm wondering if there are new owners now.
I ate there the first day it opened and have returned numerious times. Never a disapointment.
