La Terrazza - PACHINO

Stumbled upon this small restaurant on a night out in Marzamemi. The starter were good and served fairly quickly but the it took them almost 1hr to serve the mains. They also came back to us a few times saying that they run out of a number of ingredients and were offering substitutions. Also the main served grilled fish and a pasta) were tasteless and not really special. The servers and the owner also had a curious attitude towards people that they deem in a hurry and this is reflected in the menu... I guess that for them 1hr waiting is acceptable. Definitely not worth it. I would avoid this place.

Since we’ve been eating so much here, we just wanted a drink and maybe a snack. Ordered two beers and decided on the peppery mussels as a “snack.” They brought us a piece of bruschetta with the freshest cherry tomatoes that the area is known for and a basket of wonderful bread. The mussels were in a lovely sauce with tomatoes, red pepper and oregano and were delicious. And what do you do with all that bread? Of course, dip it in the mussel sauce. Yum! Very relaxed place with a view of the sea. The menu says “You can’t be in a hurry to eat here.” Slow down. Relax. It’s the Sicilian way.

Food was salty. Some of the staff were not very friendly and actually quite rude. And their card machine didn’t work. We spent ages trying to make payment and then had to come back the next day with cash!

Searching for a place to eat, we went there randomly and found the best place to eat in Marzamemi! We took pasta with swordfish and the owner suggested us to take the fresh pasta instead of spaghetti,for few euros more. The fish was superfresh and tasty, and pasta was unforgettable! Fried fish and calamari was made with fresh oil (when you pass in the center you can see people eating dark fried calamari Highly recommended!!! :

Pranzo delizioso, consigliatissimi antipasti di pesce (il proprietario consiglia il meglio del fresco di giornata), primi (spada/datterini e carbonara di pesce). Ottimo anche il vino della casa. Posizione un po' defilata ma vista mare.
