Oktoberfest At The Oysterfest

It's one of those events you would be okay to go once and that'll be it. Would I'd go every year? Not really... It's definitely great for kids and family to explore around. Definitely lots to do ! From fairs, to small shops, to eateries. Definitely bring cash! Cause majority of them prefers it. Parking is a pain! Just FYI. If you decide to come. I recommend to come early. Surprisingly I recommend the Turkey Leg out of everything that's there. It just brings me back to Disneyland. The steam clams are also worth the value. Most people will ask for the oysters since it's an oyster festival... I honestly feel like it's nothing to write about. It's long lines, it's somewhat pricey for that value. I just feel like there are other stalls that have better choices imo.

This was one of the biggest and best Festival I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot of them including this one who really outdid themselves this year. There was so many food spots to visit that you didn't know which one to go to it was like a kid being in the candy store, and all the food I did get was very delicious. They had fresh oysters and clams cooked anyway you wanted them. Also steamed mussels and fresh roasted corn on the cob drenched in butter excellent choice. There were also a lot of craft tents with all different types of goodies. They also had a couple of nice bands playing very nice music. I am definitely going back next year.

After a few years without the festival due to covid, it's officially back! We had a great time and I'm glad we went earlier in the day and avoided the main crowds. Definitely need some planning for a smooth experience next year. Come next year if you like loud music, fair food including seafood choices, amusement park rides, artisan crafts markets or a festive atmosphere. Parking finding parking nearby is a moot point. We parked at a train station parking lot for free a ways away and hopped onto the oyster fest shuttle buses. The line for the shuttle was already 30 people long when we arrived at 10:30am (fest starts at 11am . We waited for two buses before we could get seats and arrived at 11:30am. There are shuttles heading back all the time. Crowds/Lines/Seating before 1pm, lines are much shorter, but there will be crowds regardless. For example, the raw oyster stand took about ten minutes (40 50 people in line , and when we left at 1 2 pm, the line was probably around 30 minutes long (100 200 people . It goes fast though. Very chaotic. There's about 30 tables near the stage (loud ass music if you can snag a spot. Food/Prices Oysters quite an price increase to 5 oysters for $15 versus $12 from before covid. The oysters were good and fresh, from Connecticut, shucked on site. Juicy and condiments are available. Found a tiny crab enjoying the oysters with us as is tradition. Expensive but tasty Turkey leg $12 I think, very worth the money, huge salty juicy and tender. Messy Potato twister $9 I think, goes well with meat, not a lot of food but impressive looking Wild Bill's old fashioned soda pop $25 $35 for a mug with unlimited daily refills, the cream soda tastes exactly like sweet sticky orange creamsicles, delicious but gets messy, extra $12(? For the rubber lid and straw combo. Market/Music/Rides/Petting Aquatic Animals there's an extensive tented and crowded market full of artisan crafts like art pieces, beer related paraphernalia. There's also a lot of outdoor booths with information for conservation and also a petting tank with whelks, horseshoe crabs, spider crabs. Amusement park nearby. They also had boats shooting water as a show. Heard there's a pirate ship. Bathrooms porta potties arranged in large groups. The ones most convenient and conspicuous are disgusting and full. There was a large group of porta potties with foot pump sinks towards the back. Much much cleaner and spacious. tl;dr expensive food you can find at most fairs, crafts markets, amusement park nearby, read the parking tips, use the shuttle, go early

Great food and great drinks! A lot of different types of vendors. I enjoyed everything I had.

This was my Uncle's pick this time. He my Dad wanted to come here this Sunday. I haven't been here in a few years. A lot has changed. We got perfect free parking one block away from the main drag. This year was my overall favorite. The weather played nice. Not too hot or cold and no rain. Absolutely perfect! A huge variety of vendors. Everything from clothes jewelry to herbs, soaps birdhouses. But the standout was the food vendors. So many vendors with not a lot of repeats. So there is no way you are going home hungry. I started at Ralphie's, my Food Truck fellas 2 booths. I got the seafood combo. Perfection of fried grilled Scallops Shrimp deliciousness. Then we meandered over to the Soft Shell Crab booth, yummy!! Then a rest stop by the band at the beach. Beautiful view great music. More walking.... But let me grab some Bananas Fosters a cool lemonade please. Hold up! Are those Bat houses? Yes! Cool! Wait is that a birdhouse with a clear side?! SOLD!!! Daaaad wait! I wanna get a Lobster Banh Mi before we go! Dayum! Why does it seem like we parked so far away now?! Is this a hill?! Who put that there?! LOL I Guess we have to stop for some Oysters on a Half Shell so we have energy to make it back to the car. LOL. Yup! It happened just like that! Great family day out! Bring the kiddos.
