Unfortunately, the portion sizes are disproportionate to the prices. Moreover, a portafilter machine should be a given in a café—without one, the name 'café ' loses some of its meaning.

I've rarely had such bad food. I've had better in the school cafeteria.

There were six of us in the restaurant and had the beef tongue, the goulash and the duck leg with plenty of beer. The goulash was cold. I don't want to make any assumptions, but all of the dishes tasted like they were made straight from three cans. Only the beer was drinkable. Unfortunately, all other restaurants in the town were closed that day and time. I can only recommend the restaurant for a beer. We also ordered a chicken steak. Unfortunately it didn't go through. And the Worcestershire sauce had also been expired for two years. I can't understand the good reviews that drew us to this restaurant in any way. We asked the waitress about the raw chicken because we didn't understand paying for it. It was replied that mistakes happen, the chicken was “put in the pan again” and a coffee was offered as compensation. Nausea persisted.

I haven't been to such an unfriendly cafe in a long time. Went straight back.

A lovingly run hotel, designed in a robust, beautiful country style. Here the owners serve themselves. Very friendly and warm staff. When the opportunity arises, some time is also taken for a chat with the guests, which increases the feel-good factor even more. The view of the Oybiner Berg is amazing and the proximity to the train station with the narrow-gauge railway is also great. Our hotel room was very good, clean and comfortable. The bed was a bit uncomfortable with the mattresses, but from my experience, beds are always a bit difficult on vacation. That 's why I can 't deduct a star for that. The breakfast was good and there was everything to fill you up. The dinner was great. From schnitzel with fries to classic brawn to beetroot thaler, there is something for every palate, be it a meat lover or a vegetarian. The health resort of Oybin itself impresses with its sights. It is in a quiet location and the view from almost every spot is simply beautiful. However, you have to note that there are no traditional supermarkets here. So just take something with you in advance for a little hunger in between (e.g. on hikes). In principle, no one will starve because there are enough restaurants and cafes in town. The price/performance ratio was generally good, both in the hotel and in the town. I can definitely recommend the Hotel Café Meier and will definitely book and visit it again soon.
