What User doesn't like about Tobacco Wood Brewing Company:
It's a good place for a drink. You only have beer, which I personally don't like. The food is terrible. We tried this place when he opened, didn't like the food. Decided to give the place recently another chance and the food is still terrible. If you had enough to drink the food, it can be good to eat. Definitely not food I eat happy sober or even buzzed (yes it is so bad). Besides, avoid the brisket, it is only BBQ... View all feedback.
Tobacco Wood has undergone some changes, with consistently delicious beers and a new menu concept from local chef Marc Cavenaugh. The food quality has improved, with new pub food options like Mac and Cheese with crispy pork belly, fried Brussels sprouts with sweet hot honey, and buffalo-breaded cauliflower. The portions are large and meant for sharing. The smash burger is comparable to one of the best in the Triangle, with bacon, cheese, and a not-too-sweet bun. Tobacco Wood has made the right move by hiring talented chefs, making it a great spot for a pub lunch or dinner. They also host a Sunday brunch popup with Bigfoot BBQ, serving top-notch whole hog Q meat. Both menus are worth trying with a pint in hand, while enjoying the outdoor seating and friendly small-town atmosphere.
Not exactly sure what they are trying to do. Turning a bar into something fancy but you guys are sadly mistaking. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it bring back the old menu and the old system with ordering food at the bar. Servers coming to the table to take food orders and waiting 2.5 hours to get your food that still taste like bar food, absolutely insane. This place was great before all the new changes. Won’t be back.
Nice outside seating area with a rustic feel. I was in Oxford for the day and there aren't a lot of options, Yelp showed place with some nice reviews. It's a casual brewery and entry with a small menu. I asked about the fried chicken and opted for a sandwich. The hostess also recommended mac and cheese. I can say the portions are large and the pricing was realistic. My sandwich was delightful, I had added cheese and a side of bar b que. I really liked how crispy and juicy it was. The Mac and Cheese is creamy and had a unique beer based flavor. It's very rich so 4 bites was all for me. They make their own Italian dressing and it's a winner. People were gathering for music that was being set up outside, and I was able to pet a very friendly hunting dog on the way out. Definitely above average for a casual place.
Great experience even considering the chaos of the rain/storms with the hot sauce festival. Even got a cool tour of the brewery itself which was awesome. Good service, good people, good energy, and fantastic beer. What more can you ask for? Happy five years, y’all!
Usually pretty good The drinks are great, but the food has been declining in quality. They will occasionally close early; an example is Sunday, the 13th, when they closed at 4 p.m. It may be time for a new manager.
