The food was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. Coming from the Stamford area, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portions of meat for the price. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Bronx Deli:
3 stars is not a knock on the food.I love the food. But man oh man, the girls that answer the phone, SUCK. Everytime I call, I just want to ask if she needs a hug. Did her cat just die? There is no way her time lady time stretches for the duration of the month. I know RBF is a real thing, but I don't think I've ever spoken to her and she is polite or happy.Jeeeeez I'm just trying to order a sandwich. No need to act like I just stretched the mental capabilities that your GED allows, to the limit.Maybe that's harsh, but whatever happened to service with a smile?.
I'm not sure how it's possible to mess up a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. When I requested a small amount of condiments, I didn't expect it to be completely drenched! They remade it, but it turned out the same way. Honestly, I could make a better sandwich myself. I won't be coming back. I'm all set.
The sandwich was decent, but there are definitely better choices nearby, as well as some that are worse. Honestly, what happened to this restaurant? I ordered a Captain grinder, which is supposed to come with chicken cutlet, eggplant, mozzarella, and roasted red peppers. Instead, I found just two small slices of eggplant on each half of the grinder. Like others have noted in their reviews, it seems whoever is preparing these sandwiches is using the bare minimum for the fillings. I won't be returning. It was really disappointing.
I used to love this place. They made great sandwiches full of meat and topping. I ordered a ordered the Figlia Julli?s Favorite grinder (deli chicken, bacon, sharp provolone, lettuce, no tomato and deli dressing. I was so disappointed. It was all bread. Iliterally took the sandwich meat and cheese from half the grinder and put it on the other half just to make it worth it! Subwayhas more meat!
The Bronx Deli has been my go-to lunch spot in the area since 2008, and it has thrived through a change of ownership while maintaining its quality and offerings. Their Yankee-themed sandwiches will please any sports fan. The highlight of this place is definitely the bread! The grinders are served on sesame-coated Italian bread, directly from the Bronx, which is crispy and delicious—much better at holding everything together than the popular Nardelli's down the street. They also offer a selection of Italian specialties and pastas in the refrigerator, along with tasty cookies for those with a sweet tooth. The daily specials board has plenty of options to satisfy any appetite. I discovered Deep River potato chips here, and I find it hard to resist bringing a bag home with me. My only complaint would be the egg sandwiches in the morning. While they’re filling, the eggs are served plain, which doesn’t appeal to me. Skip the more popular local chain and give The Bronx Deli a try—you might never want to return to the chain!
