Delicious catfish and slaw. We had a group of 10 and everyone was pleased with their meals! Great service. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because on their menu it states gratuity added with more than 4 checks per table and we had 3 checks...and we had gratuity added. Sad part is they would have received more if it wasn't added in. View all feedback.

I visited the Ajax Diner several years ago and had shrimp and grits. It was a truly fantastic dish and still lingers pleasantly in my memory. Hoping for a repeat experience, I visited the diner again and the food was just average. Ironically, the cheese grits were the worst part of my meal, watery and flavorless. Good country cooking. Fantastic menu with unlimited generous sides. Come as you are and leave happy and satisfied. Leave your tooth pick in the ceiling.
The food is some of the best you will ever eat. Lots of atmosphere. If it is busy, make sure you follow the unwritten rules of getting a table. Wait in line and wait your turn. The waitresses don't seat you the customers seat themselves. Don't try to be a wise guy and butt ahead of someone who has been waiting longer than you. YOU WILL GET CALLED OUT ON IT. Trust me we have done it.

A great little place for lunch. Vegetable plate was pretty good but squash casserole was too spicy.
