a view of the menu will tell them that this restaurant is not cheap, but eating is excellent as the choice of steaks. Never has that saying that they get what they pay was more true. the steaks are cooked to perfection and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes her steak. View all feedback.
What Alex F doesn't like about The Porterhouse Grill Rooms:
It was ok. For some reason our booking wasn't recorded but not an issue as they accommodated us with no delay. Which was nice. Food was just ok. I found my steak to be chewy. So did my partner. Our friend had a better luck but hers was more cooked so maybe we should have it done more. Place seemed very quiet and somehow cold in appearance. Just wished steaks were better. Nice place, good music, superbe meat and wine, staff OK! I had launch there with my son and his girl friend, we said only a word: awesome! Let's rock eat and drink Italian wine!
We stayed on a Thursday night for a break from the daily grind. Despite being in the middle of all the Covid restrictions, we were warmly welcomed and had a fantastic stay from start to finish. The whole place is very tastefully decorated. The bedroom was v comfortable with some great finishing touches. The food was nothing short of excellent and the drinks selection was impressive. The service was attentive without being over bearing. Special shout out to Kyle who was very helpful and an all round good guy. Hope to come back soon.
I have been here multiple times on dates with my partner. It is expensive, but absolutely worth the money. The starters are delicious, and the steaks always cooked perfectly. I definitely make this a regular stop for special occasions.
Popped in for lunch with colleagues today. I chose the lunchtime special rump steak which, TBH , was the toughest bit of steak I have had in a very long time. (Note to self ... Remember that 's why you always choose fillet or ribeye. When the time came to pay it turned out that for some bonkers reason they do not accept cash. There was no mention of this in the menu or when we ordered, although a sign down the other end of the otherwise empty room was pointed out to me. If I hadn 't been with colleagues I 'd have made a much bigger fuss. I like to have the choice of how to pay. They also added a 12.5% service charge which, for the first time ever, I had removed from the bill. Won 't be returning.
The lunch we had was wonderful, with good service in a beautifully restored pub.
