While the menu boasts a wide array of Thai dishes, it might not cater to those seeking familiar pub fare. Although the portions are generous and the food quality is commendable, the atmosphere can feel cramped, and service may be lacking at times. Despite these quirks, the friendly staff and inviting vibe create a cozy dining experience. Ideal for lovers of Thai food, this unique spot could become a favorite among adventurous diners seeking something different.
This is basically a Thai restaurant masquerading as a pub from the outside it appears as a pub with no clear indications that it is not. Having spent ages buying drinks we sat down with the menu and saw it was all Thai food, which my wife is unable to eat. Tables are crammed in with hardly any space in between, people pushing past us and standing around knocking into us while we were seated. Staff are confused and inefficient. Soft drinks are at least 50% ice, so you’re not getting as much drink for you money. If you want a Thai meal, great if you have one person in your party who can’t eat Thai food, don’t bother as there’s no other options there. Would not bother to return here. Needs to be much clearer that it’s just a Thai restaurant.
This charming and adorable pub in the center of Oxford is a must-visit! We frequented it multiple times during our time in the city and enjoyed it every single time. The Thai food we tried was absolutely delicious and we would definitely recommend it to others!
A small but reliable pub. It's never had the best Thai food in town, but it is the most cost-effective. Never bad, sometimes great, very filling and served in a traditional pub setting. The only real problem is that there's not much space so you either need to turn up early, late, or be patient.
The Old Tom is located slightly to the south of the city centre. It appears to be an old traditional pub/restaurant However, when examining the menu outside, it really is a Thai Restaurant in olde worlde pub surroundings, with bar drinks also available. We visited for lunch where the menu provided sufficient choice. The food quality was good and the portion size just right for us, although the prices were a little expensive. There was not an actual welcome on arrival and the service warranted an average rating. [hidden link]
Nice place and very good beers. The staff mentioned they would close at 22h, but when it was so far their behaviour was ... typically British for this topic. Might be good for a meal as well.
