What Justxme doesn't like about The Old Bookbinders Ale House:
The staff at this restaurant is very attentive and the ambience is lovely. They offer gluten-free bottled beer, but if you're both gluten-free and lactose-free, the options are very limited. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant if you have both dietary restrictions. However, if you are only gluten-free, then it is a fine option with no other restrictions. View all feedback.
Large pub from the hectic of the city centre. Excellent food. Interesting menu. Real craft beer. Friendly and efficient service. Very recommended
Where should I go after Bookbinding Festival if not here ; It was totally spontaneous and almost accidental visit and was the best end of a long day I could ask for. Pub is located just around 10 minutes walk from city centre in calm and local area. It looks just brilliant — like cut out from some old movie scene. Beer is proper and cold. Food, even if the menu is in French, is excellent. I had goat cheese croutons and one minute steak—all was way above pub food standards. But really exceptional… is staff and service. Nice, polite people that know what they’re doing. Quick, talky if you wish, and highly competent. Advice for landlord: if they ask you for a rise—give it straight away; if the ask for shares in your business—at least consider it ; Highly recommend this place!
We recently spent a weekend away in Oxford. My husband booked The Old Bookbinders up for a meal on the Saturday. We booked the table up for 8.30 we arrived a bit early and our table was not quiet ready. So we got a drink at the bar, it is quiet a small bar area, but a man sitting having a beer offered us two seats to sit down, while we waited. Our table was soon ready, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced, the staff are very attentive and work very hard. It is a very quirky place with lots of different things on the wall and hanging from the ceiling. If we are ever in Oxford again we would definitely visit again.
A hidden gem in Jericho! Beautiful place, with unique and tasty food at decent prices and good selection of drinks. The staff was friendly and the place lively. My crepe was delicious. I absolutely loved the place and would definitely recommend it to people!
Brilliant as usual! Delicious food (we had complete and salmon crepes), great service, and amazing location, quiet and lovely. The outside area is great for sunny days!
