What User doesn't like about Sticks'n'sushi Oxford:
Booked online which worked well. Arrived and was shown straight to table. Food arrived quickly. Had the soup which I didn’t enjoy at all. Asked for the bill and was told that they were cashless. Told the waitress I was cardless as it wasn’t stated online that I’d need a card. Called for manager who said I could pay cash. Won’t be eating here again View all feedback.
We'll be back 100 times. We came after a few hours walk around Oxford, the view over the city is beautiful from the restaurant. The menu is perfect, caters for sushi lovers as well as those who do not like fish. We would recommend the Broccoli and the New York Taxi Sushi. The staff was all so attractive, attentive and understandable on the dishes.
I went here twice and was blown away both times. By far the best part is that every single item on the menu has a photograph, so you know exactly what you're getting. Other fun little details include toothpicks in the restrooms, being provided with a warm towel smelling of lemongrass that instantly calms you down, and the little rocks that you can rest your chopsticks on. The miso soup is served with a cover so it stays warm and you can leave it for later in the meal. I must also credit the staff, who are friendly and professional. The food comes out extremely quickly (within a matter of minutes), too, and our water was regularly refilled without us needing to ask. But this far from the best part. The food is incredible the salmon is some of the freshest I've had and tastes amazing even without the sauce and trout roe that came with the dish, though the latter two certainly elevate the taste. The wagyu stick simply melts on your tongue, it's so tender, and the caviar is superb. My dinner companion vastly enjoyed all his dishes as well, especially the softshell crab roll and the hiramasa dish. All in all, this is my favourite restaurant in Oxford so far. The dishes are stunning both in looks and taste, and service is impeccable. The prices for each dish are very reasonable, though I should warn that each dish is a bit too small to be a full meal on its own, so it's best to perhaps share 3 dishes amongst 2 people, or get 1 dish and something small like a stick if you're dining alone. I look forward to visiting again!
Nice place to hang out with friend if you love sushi. The food was absolutely delicious, the prawn tempura and duck rice roll were my favourite. However it did let down a bit by the sticks we had, which I found some of them were quite bland and the goats cheese stick was extremely salty, not eatable for me. Other than that, everything else were fresh, very tasty. The service was good and attentive, the price reflects the quality, not bad at all in my opinion.
It was a surprise! A good one! The pictures say a lot. The food was as tasty as it looks. The cocktail was also really nice this is their autumn exclusive drink. The food is all freshly prepared for you and it was amazing. The service was also really nice. My advice: make sure you reserve. The place is always full. The dessert is quite nice but don’t expect a big portion (you definitely cannot share these) they are the size of a spoon.
Really good sushi and friendly staff who helped us through the menu. The aesthetic and smell of the restaurant was calming as well. Desserts were smaller than expected but were delicious nonetheless. I was surprised by the optional service tax being added, I was happy to pay it but preferred opting in to pay rather than assuming that I would pay this.
